I tried a lot costly thermal paste for laptops.. turns out they suck after applying more temp or less temp for 1 month only. then it will be same thermal throttle again.. Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut thermal pad is better than any one of them for laptops.. no issue of drying as well. temp before (turbo enabled) ideal: 80*C gaming: 97*C - 99*C temp after thermal pad: ideal: 50*C gaming: 90*C u should try this thermal pad. note: others wont work only this brand works. also make sure you buy for pair price which is 1100 rs, some guys even selling it for 4k in which is wrong price.

I don't think cleaning thermal paste with a toothbrush was a good idea. You could have used iso-propyl alcohol. That definitely would clean the older thermal paste completely and thermals would have been better. And FPS boost is just because of RAM upgrade as those games are now using more memory than before.

Good video . here are fe opinions : 1. use alcohol to clean , even when your cpu looks clean to eyes , there is a lot of theremal paste there. If you clean it with alcohol and cloth , you would habe seen black spots on your cloth, do multiple rubs to clean it properly. 2. your cpu temp is high which means either your fans aren't good enough or cooling plate is not tight enough , tight it as much as screw allows . not able to cool 22w cpu + 55w gpu ? something is not right. 3. your performance gain is from ram, 8gb is good for nothing . upgrading it to 16gb is giving performance boost. 4. Those tapes are i guess are vrm thermal pads and not for saving electric shorting. try : 1. open backplate and run benchmark. see if it helps. 2. tight screws as much as possible. 3. reduce gpu power using msi afterburner.

GPU temp is same, GPU clocks are lower after applying thermal paste, the reason for higher FPS seem to be the higher utilization in the later benchmark. Also I think thermal grizzly takes a few days before it actually reaches its potential.

I have a IGP3 and recently i upgraded the RAM to dual channel and the temps while gaming has increased by a good margin. Even doing the basic tasks made the base temps go slightly higher. I have a R5 4600H in my laptop. Possible scenario could be the higher performance due to dual channel config. There's a 20% boost in R23 and geekbench scores after the upgrage. And also the 10% boost in temps. Lol. Also there is a possibility that the temps of the new RAM module near CPU adding up to the overall higher package temps. Hope this helps.

@@saurajitdas Nope, RAM has nothing to do with rising temps, either he didn't applied it properly or he should use iso-propyl alcohol instead of toothbrush, coz I purchased the same thermal paste properly cleaned and also changed the thermal pads along with thermal paste. The difference was around 10-15 degree drops where CPU temps didn't exceed 78 while before it was touching 95-96

Can you do more tests with thermal paste on different laptops? I had a asus tuf 504 with 1060 and i applied thermal paste and cleaned the air vents and i started getting min 45 and max 80 temperature, before i use to get 95 most of the time. I don't know if thermal helped or cleaning the vents.

You should not spread the thermal paste their may be some air bubbles left due to which there is not much temperature difference,you should use dot method,line method or cross method (only for gpu) . I also changed my laptops thermal paste and before temperature goes to 96 max, 95 average and after applying same karynout thermal paste temp are 84max , 76average.

actually the air bubbles are a myth. it was disproven by debauer himself who works at kryonaut and helped make the paste. that is why u get a spreader with most thermal pastes (with kryonaut as well) just need to spread it extremely thin but yea i use dot and rice method too

I upgraded RAM as shown in this video. Some days after upgrading RAM, i started to face huge FPS drops for 20-30 secs. During the FPS drop, the CPU temperature goes from 99 to 80 degrees and CPU usage goes from 25% to 90% and GPU usage went from 70 to 20. I decided to change thermal paste, no change as such. Even cleaned the heat sink.

I own the 2020 model pavilion (i7-10750H + GDDR6 1650) and yeah out of the box it doesn’t overheat but a few months later it starts hitting the 90’s and sooner or later will stay most of the time between 90’s and 100C. So, First of all I recommend repasting with thermal grizzly kryonaut. Second, undervolting the cpu. Last advice is to use a good cooling pad (specially one that fits the fans vents of your laptop). If those advices are taken, believe me, the laptop will run way cooler. My temps now are for the gpu max 76C. And 82 max for cpu. That’s a big improvement.
