Thanks for sharing. I'm replacing a Wraith Prism, on a 5800X3D with one of these soon, in hopes that it fares much better. I can currently hit 89.9C on demanding tasks and dont like that at all. I would use a larger cooler, but my ITX case will barely fit this one as it is (Jonsbo T8 Plus). I won't be able to reverse the fan but, it was VERY interesting to see! So, thanks again. Im glad you took the time to stop and film a video for this. It was very helpful!

I just put one in a Hyte revolt 3 and on starfield new Atlantis I get around 60c with a Ryzen 5700x. I changed the orientation so it pulls from the back panel as the revolt has a down facing mb orientation. I had to use mounting brackets from a different thermalright cooler to do it.

You can clip it onto the cooler backwards, there's no trick!

Good review. Helpful too... What did you mean by Fan reversed in the benchmark graphs? Orientation or location?

Orientation! Instead of pulling hot air from the GPU's flow-through cooler section through the CPU cooler, I turned the fan around from the default orientation to pull cooler air from the rear of the setup instead.

could you explain what you mean by fan reversed? could you do a video on it?

It's just literally taking the fan and mounting it to the heatsink in reverse, so that it's blowing hot air toward the front of the case instead of the back. This keeps it from pulling in hot air from the GPU's flow-through cooler, and improves temperatures.

im testing a 9800x3d with this in a couple days!! though i'm gonna swap it out for a 160mm cooler when it inevitably throttles terribly

​@@TechAmbr it ended up working fine, surprisingly! idled over 60, loads pushing 90. this was with -40 undervolt though. i didn't bother to swap in my bigger cooler until yesterday

I recently did a part list for a friend and included the Silver Soul 135 for a 7700X CPU. My question is if you know if the 135 has AM5 mounting brackets or if i will need to order something.

Looks like it's compatible! I'd be surprised if it wasn't -- AM4 and AM5 have nearly-identical cooler mounting geometry, but Thermalright does explicitly list AM4 compatibility on their product page, which is nice. Good luck with the build!
