Thermarest Corus 20 Review 2021

I have another 650 fill Therm-a-Rest quilt and haven't experienced cold spots at all. I expected to be disappointed, but love it.

I think you're right about the feathers shifting inside of the baffles when you roll over, and that's a large part of the reason why I tend to stay away from down and choose synthetic.

Hey guys, funny you should mention that as I recently invested in a Onetigris quilt with foot box. I tested it in conjunction with the Corus 20 over the top and in temperatures just above freezing the sleep system worked for me. I feel the baffles firstly are too wide and they run horizontally and not vertically. I'm out on a collaboration this coming weekend with Twinpeaks wild camping, Bulldog_badger and Camp N Wild with the Dragon in some woodland. The weather is due to be cold and it's another opportunity to try out my sleep system inside my TCOP. Take it easy guy's atb Taff 🤠👊👊

Everyone sleeps differently, most people wear their coats and trousers when cold. I've just purchased a Tigris one ultralight synthetic quilt, I'll use that in conjunction with the Corus. I find sleeping in a sleeping bag restrictive, it maybe as a result of sleeping in sleeping bags in the army fully dressed at times wearing boots. Now I just want the freedom. @@BulldogBadger I ruled out the OEX leviathan due to weight and size in addition to feeling confined. The down on the back of a sleeping bag is compressed and as much use as an ash tray on a motorcycle lol

@@Taffwildmanofthewoods 🤣🤣 haha yes, it is a great bag but the pack size is what put me off it, plus I wanted to try a quilt and be less restricted.. worst case scenario I will use the corus as a summer quilt and then buy a UGQ bandit for winter

Great review. I am looking for a quilt as we chat and have no clue what I am going to get. There are so many out there and its a bit confusing for me. I am sorry you didn't end up liking the thermarest. I need one for temps down in the high 20's up to the 70's

Hi Kathy, how are you? You are fortunate to be residing in the US as you will not pay any import fees. Two companies in the US offering good quilts although expensive but I guess you get what you pay for are ugqoutdoor.com/ enlightenedequipment.com/ UK doesn't get as much snow as the US so I am undecided whether to proceed with the purchase. Sorry to hear it didn’t live up to expectation. It’s a reputable brand too. I do prefer a quilt myself but do use a sleeping bag in winter to trap the warmth in. Could the sleeping pad made much of a difference in terms of keeping the heat in? xx

Hi Taff, Im sorry this ones disappointed you and im also sorry I didn’t see this before I bought one LOL but I will keep you posted on how I get in with mine, I did purposely buy down trousers and booties with mine to pair with it which then gives me a weight of 1000g for a winter set up paired with my thermarest x therm max, I am hopeful that set up will keep me warm 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Thanks for the video my friend I appreciate it 👍

I guess it's the lower quality 650 fill down they use in the corus quilts that's the problem.
