Thermo King TriPac no start, diagnosing a bad ground.

By your explanation of issues. I have the same issues. Contacted TK and was told by Technician it sound like a bad electrical connection somewhere. Was told to check Starter wire grounds thoroughly. Not starter or anything mechanical. It will start right up if AC is turned on but to monitor batteries or anything else It will just "Quick Crank" until batteries dead. I will be all over it this weekend before my hair falls out bro.

Seems like you would have seen the wire going to the floor and had a light bulb moment pretty quick. But 6 hours? Never threw a fault code either? Drain just a little pil out of it and you'll really lose your damn mind then. Until you get the fault code at least.

I unhooked my batteries to do a starter and alternator on my truck, I hooked the batteries backup the way I think they should go and the fan on the Apu will start and then then bogged down then shut down and throw a bad or bat code I called my local Thermo King they seem to think I have something on the batteries hooked up wrong any help in this matter will be very greatly appreciated

If it’s starting up the cables must attached correctly. I’d still disconnect and clean anyways. When it cranks up make sure all the belts and all pulleys are moving, a frozen ac compressor can cause this. Also next time you crank it up hold by hand the throttle wide open. Also do the simple checking of all fuses. And there is a metal inline inlet fuel filter that no one changes in the back of the unit near the buzzer.

@@wesley_scott thank you for your reply I did check the fuses and put on a AC compressor about 2 months ago about the same time I did change that inline fuel filter in the back, the unit unfortunately is not even cranking I reconnected some of the batteries and still nothing

@@aaronpeddicord2944 how about the 50amp fuse in the Tripac and the inline fuse at the battery. Usually that 50 amp fuse is on the back wall near that fuel filter but can also be at the bottom near the alternator.

Hey guys I have issues with my apu. The engine cut off every 3min. And code AL3. I checked big fues i clean up all wires on alternator looks like alternator is working when starting engine voltage goes up no problem just keeping shutting off. What's can be? Please help.

Try the reset button and check every fuse to start with. Most likely it’s a blown fuse, you have to pull every one out to check. It’s usually the fuse for the condenser fan or the engine fan that will cause this issue.
