4:18:54 The answer to HW Ques 28 is 650 Joules. (i.e. the heat for process ADC is 650 joules.) Explanation-----> delQ = delU + work done, as we have already found out value of delU = 560 Joules, we only have to find out Work done in process ADC. Work done = area under the curve ADC, (but work done for DC is obviously zero as there is no volume change), so we only have to find area under process AD. thus, work done = (3*10^4) x (3*10^-3) = 90 Joules so delQ = 560 + 90 = 650 Joules

@@sannienegi1118 no, it's not a cyclic process (clockwise and anticlockwise only make sense when the process is cyclic). also it's clear from the graph that the volume of gas is increasing while going from A to C, which implies that work is done by the gas.. Hence, work done (90J) will be taken as positive.

Here , we have to find work done from AD so we should have to find the area of rectangle with length AD and remaining lower portion of the rectangle....which is 90j then we add work and internal energy to get delta q , and that would be 90+560 =650 ........ Exact answer is minus 650 because the cycle is in anticlockwise
