I believe the smoke x will control the thermoworks blower.

Looks like it’s smoke x4 for me. I have a stick burner and it’s too far away from the WiFi for me to even consider the fire board

Why even compare the smoke, signals is a much better comparison to the Fireboard

The range on the smoke is absolutely horrendous! I have 1 wall between my bedroom and the smoker at a total distance of about 35 feet. Kept loosing connection all the time. My 8 year old maverick has never lost connection, anywhere in my house. I highly do NOT recommend the smoke

Willy, do you have the original Smoke or the Smoke X. I agree that range on the original was very limited, especially if there was something that caused interference. My testing on the Smoke X is that the range is greatly improved.

I've owned the original Smoke for a few years. It's a good product overall, especially considering it came out several years ago, but I agree the range is pretty limited. The range is still way better than bluetooth and some of the cheaper products out there from a few years ago, but I was disappointed to find I couldn't obtain remote temperature readings from parts of my new house I'm frequently in (it's a large house, tho I'd still want better results). I added the Smoke Gateway afterwards, which connects it to the internet via the battery powered RF-to-Wifi gateway. That works pretty well if you don't mind using a smartphone app (it's not super polished, but works well enough IMO). If you want to go app-less w/ a physical remote receiver, the Smoke X2 and X4 is the way to go (the range is more than almost anyone could possibly want). On the other hand, the Fireboard 2 (I own the FB2Drive) is a better product than Thermoworks' counterpart (Signals) if you're comfortable with smartphone apps (unlimited range is a plus), plus the built-in 12V power for blower control is nice if you want automatic temperature control w/ a blower (if you opt for the "Drive" model). If I had to do it all over again I'd have bought Fireboard 2 Drive from the start but that wasn't available then.... I suspect some people would prefer having a remote receiver tho (some advantages, tho the negatives outway the positives for me)

@@DerrickRiches You probably all ready know this, but you forgot to mention that the ThermoWorks X-4 controls a blower/fan"The Billows"
