I saw a post on reddit compiling all the cultural references that exist in Xilonen design and MY GOD Mihoyo really did their research the text is HUGE and has a reference and explanation for every inch of her clothes but I also like gyarus so I might be bias in liking her so much, maybe, but you can't blame me you like pink haired characters the same way

@@TheRoschi nah was just joking Well but talking about cultural references Citlali is a shaman but I'm still unsure of which culture, but yes, she was the one who said that Mavuika would die in the trailer Xilonen is based on the Aztecs that's why she is an ocelot and wears a lot of jewelry, making her a gyaru was genius honestly Chasca is Mexican, that's why the hat and top she wears Ororon is a bat and I only recently discovered that Batman was created based on an Aztec entity, apparently

It does feel like not much happened in the trailer, but I suspect they didn’t want to spoil much. Usually they mismatch scenes and lines around from the archon quest, events, and story quests, to give a feel of the next version, but also mislead and not spoil too much. Maybe they didn’t have much to work with that wouldn’t spoil or just Xilonen’s story quest that will be released?

I don't mind the boss showcase section, it adds another part for the music to breakdown/for us to take in what we've seen, kind of like a palette cleanser? if they put in too much in too short a period of time it starts to get overwhelming at least in my opinion. I haven't fought it yet since I've yet to get Xilonen who needs her mats, but the fight looks alright, though nothing too special like the 2 bosses in the last update. Story I won't speak much on but it's fantastic, and Chasca does have a large role, arguably one of the bigger ones, it's kinda surprising how little they show her in the trailers, though we'll probably get plenty once she comes out in the next patch, though I'm personally more excited for Ororon. As for Xilonen, I think her design is amazing, I like when they go with more simple/actually practical clothes instead of overdesigning them sometimes, adding details for no real reason+it's also culturally relevant I've heard, and I think is more important. But yeah as always, natlan has been amazing so far, can't wait for you to experience it, and hope you have a great day.

I mean I see what you're saying but it could just not be there at all and the trailer could just be shorter and more to the point, that way there's less to take in while you still get what's most important. I think when they have the mini character showcase (such as Xilonen) it already serves as that "palette cleanser". I don't think Xilonen's design is bad either. Simple is good, as I've stated on many occasions. I'm just not a fan of the outfit as of now, but perhaps I'll warm up to it. We'll see. To each their own. :)

Yeah, you should check Xilonen's outfit in game. The back shot in her splash art isn't gonna reveal too much. It's funny though because she actually takes her coat off during her skill duration.

the robot boss is in the trailer because this version doesn't have a new area so the trailer doesn't have shots of the landscape but the beat was pretty cool other than that they put a mechanic on this boss where if you use Kachina or Xilonen you can stun him and do a lot of damage, I hope Mihoyo makes more bosses and enemies with mechanics like that, giving more variation to the game

My understanding of why the boss is there isn't the issue. It just breaks the flow of the trailer for being the least interesting thing that they show. XD It's cool that it has those kinds of mechanics built in though.

@@TheRoschi yeah the other two bosses in Natlan have extremely more interesting lore As far as I remember the only robot bosses with interesting lore in the game are the PMA which is a robot that mimics the hypotasis and the Ruin serpent in the Chasm which was used to dig tunnels in Khaenri'ah

I didn't know about that mechanic, I just brute forced it with Neuvillette. I do find it interesting though that you'd have to use the character that you're trying to level by fighting that boss to take advantage of it. I guess it makes more sense when these bosses show up in Spiral Abyss.

@@JustinSchuller if you use nightsoul he goes into an energy accumulation mode and if you climb the pillars and break the lasers he becomes stunned and its defense drops for a while well I'm not going to say it's the only one but Mihoyo is doing more of this and it's pretty cool the Drake can be taken down by shooting arrows at its wings, the dendro hypotasis attacks can be burned and etc

- Now that you mentioned about this new world boss's attacks feel similar electro hypostasis, I can see some lore connection between them. I won't spoil it tho. - There's some interesting info that you can add to your specualtion but it's kinda lost bc of the word EN version chose. In 1:12 of your video when someone said "his soul..." in the trailer, it said "traveler's soul"[tabibito no tamashi] in JP version. - I'll say this as reminder for you after finishing Natlan act 4, there might be some hidden meaning in the title "The Rainbow Destined to Burn" you might notice after reaching that point.

Re: Zhongli and Mora THANK YOU. I was always frustrated with people insisting he _can't_ make mora when I thought it was pretty obvious that he chose not to when he decided to live like a mortal. Re: new boss I've only fought it like...once. I didn't really find it super engaging. I like one of the world bosses in Sumeru that has a similar type of design better and find that one more interesting. This one I just...use Zhongli to avoid getting beat up and smack it until it dies, basically. Re: elf characters Nahida and Layla also have the long pointy ears

Yeah, I see a lot more than I expected didn't really pay attention during the final moments in that Archon quest, let alone his story quest. Either that or having Daddy Geo more morally gray than before is blasphemous. lol You are 100% right on the elf ear thing. Can't wait for every other comment to point it out now. Xilonen's pronunciation is /ʃilonen/ if you're familiar with the IPA, "Shilonen" basically, there's one more character, introduced in 2023, where 'x' is read like 'sh'. English has more Nahuatl loanwords such as: axolotl and Mexico but with accepted pronunciation of 'x' as 'ks' unlike Spanish and Nahuatl.

they are usually pretty good at sneaking the boss fights in the trailer but this time it wasn't as good, probably doesn't help that the boss looks kinda underwhelming and they dragged it a bit the A.S.I.M.O.N in 3.1 or the field generator in 4.1 were flashier

I personally think the world boss showcase is fine. Theyre not long at all and just shows a bit of its moveset. In terms of its moves, i dont find it to be similar to the electro hypostasis. Theres one move thats similar to the Warden, and theres a mechanic in there that requires you to do something. One person in the comments had Zhongli, so of course the fight was boring for them. Id imagine all fights with Zhongli isnt as fun or hard. Anyway, I enjoyed watching your specilations. Ive just done act 4 of Natlan a few days ago and boy was it a rollercoaster. Im fairly sure the gnosis still provides a power boost for the Archons. Iirc, Venti used the gnosis to reshape the topography of Mondstadt. Dendro archon used the gnosis to make a system, Pyro archon talked to us about some things the gnosis can do for Natlan in the trailer. Im being super vague for the sake of avoiding spoilers, but you know what I mean. Looking forward to whenever you get to Inazuma!

To each their own. (I will agree that fights with Zhongli are EZ mode.) As far as the gnosis goes, I agree that they have power. However, I don't consider a "power boost" or an amplifier of their own abilities to be the same as being granted a specific power. I look at it as more of a static affect for as long as they're in possession of it. I'm looking forward to Inazuma too!

Well the boss is... pretty lackluster It doesn't encourage you to fight it. There's a particular mechanic which can be exploited by only a handful of characters, then it's DPS check. I needed the mats for Xilonen, that's it.

You're not lying about the world boss being "meh" I did fight it, over and over again to level Xilonen. It wasn't fun, it was a chore. A lot of them seem too samey. I never really had an issue with them being in these version trailers, but now that you point it out, it does kind of clash with the flow of it. Citlali (the pink haired character voiced by March 7th's VA) came out of nowhere in this patch to challenge Furina as my favorite character in the game. I don't know when she's coming as playable, but I'm in primo saving mode for her now. Glad you got around to watching this! Always fun seeing you speculate.

I normally don't mind the bosses being shown either, but this thing just wasn't interesting compared to the previous ones I've seen. The editing for it wasn't anything special either to really make it stand out. Ah yes. Citali. I mean... Cute pink haired cryo user? I'm sold. I don't even know what her personality is... Other than she might be kinda grumpy? But my only reference is that one trailer she was in.

This boss has some unique mechanics with pillars but that's it, other than that it's very standard bossfight and it's design is pretty generic. It drew me off in version trailer too

I actually like Xilonen's outfit, the denim hotpants, the jacket and the belts, but have opposite opinion on her animations - she just moves too much for my taste. Kirara also has flips and kicks in her attacks, and Kachina does kapoeira kicks, but those feel like they have weight to them, and Xilonen just floats in the air flailing her rollerblades... but to each their own. Like her slamming the deck, though.

I haven't had a chance to check out her play style and get a feel for her myself. So we'll see what I truly think shortly. As far as how she was presented here, animation wise, I have little complaints.

I agree that the new boss is pretty meh, but at least there is SOME theming reason for why it showed up in the trailer when it did. Right after Xilonen and you need to the drops from this boss to ascend her. Of course you wouldn't know this unless you had her, or were looking up her guide, but it's a tidbit of something rather than just "random boss randomly here".

About the boss... Well its actually a very important... Just kidding its the least important thing the game ever released, and I agree... they always take from the trailer, and there are many scenes that they could've put in its place. For its moves... it actually has a few unique moves, but also has lots of moves that looks similar to others bosses, including some of the cubes, to a point it seems to be intentional.

eh, like I said, I don't mind that she looks more modern. For me her top and shorts look a little too bland. Simple isn't bad, but she's almost too simple. My opinion could change though the more I see her.
