Honestly the storyline of Lapis being Sadie’s roommate would’ve been pretty interesting. And it would’ve been beneficial for her development, because Lapis doesn’t have a lot of human friends outside of Steven. The most she has is Greg, Connie, and I suppose Steven’s uncle Andy. Lapis chose to live on earth, and the planet’s main population is human beings. It would’ve been nice to see her socialize with people outside of Steven and the Gems.

It would've been nice to see Lapis, Peridot, and Sadie being roommates. I can see the three of them helping each other out. Especially during Season 5 when Lapis leaves. We get one episode where Sadie brings Peridot to a support group (that she may have gone to before) and another episode where Peridot helps with Sadie's band equipment.

I would have LOVED seeing Sadie and Lapis being room-mates at college. I can just picture, as she warms up more to Sadie, Lapis attending lectures and taking notes as she learns more about human history, reflecting on all the interesting things that happened while she was trapped in the mirror, making her question how she might've interfered had she NOT been in the mirror and theorising with Sadie, only for Sadie to point out how, while some parts of human history were bad times, certain points led to better outcomes, so changing them means so many good things followed. It could've opened Lapis' eyes to Home World's horrible system and how they're doing a version of what she thought on, only on a larger scale, preventing ANY changes and how it's caused Gem Society to stagnant. And adding the Kingdom Hearts music during the Pink Diamond talk fit so well

I really like the Perfect Steven design. if/when Steven Universe comes back, I'd hope they would retool elements of that design for a 'Stars' fusion. Lars has always been a kind of big brother figure to Steven, and Perfect Steven gives off the same vibe.

I'm sure there's are a ton of things we could've gotten instead, but what we got was pretty great. If Sugar is able to bring it back, I'd definitely want to see more of Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth. I think even if we didn't get that episode with Lapis and Sadie, I think it would be great for them to have a relationship later. They could learn a lot from each other and maybe they already have and we can learn about anything they've done between Steven OG and Steven Future.

I also remember hearing about an episode that would show Amythest's origins and what happened when she first formed in the kindergarten, but it was scrapped due to the episode having more visual storytelling rather than dialog, as well as time constraints for season 5. Not entirely sure if this was actually true given how much misinformation is spread about the show, but I think it would've been great to get more of Amethyst, and maybe even see how she met Buck Dewey or Vidalia!

I never hated pink diamond. Maybe this comes from already being a mom by the time SU was created, but I always viewed Pink as a neglected/borderline abused child. She's just gotten out on her own and isn't equipped at all to handle it, has no guidance, precious little support, and no framework to work off of. So she screws up. A lot. And then she realizes it and attempts to make amends in the only way she can see. She's really kinda tragic

I've always pictured Ronaldo having an odd gem connection through the lighthouse gem we saw at the end of Horror Club. I think he's had the thing trying to speak with him for a long time, showing him information, trying to connect. It isn't entirely why he is like that, but it certainly helped. If it was something like the temple's room creation gem, it could create his amazing bunker.

If Steven Universe gets revived, I could very well see an episode or 2 about Lapis warming up to humans in the period of the timeskip, and doing so thanks to Sadie really would make a ton of sense. Id love that for a more wholesome episode. Ans the Ronaldo bunker idea sounds hillarious with so many ways it could go.

This is one of those rare shows that had a satisfying ending but I'd still like more. We could have a more mature continuation of teenage Steven, ideally for me with Connie and him getting more serious and either moving in together or possibly heading towards marriage with them being 17-18. Less ideal but another possibility is a time skip with the show following a new character: Steven and Connie's kid.

This is exactly why we need Steven Universe to be Rebooted instead of merely Continuationed, that way we could reset the entire series with the younger version of Steven experiencing a bunch of cut content & alternate episode stories that were not used in the Original Series, and of course reveal different sides of the story where we see what happens when Steven is not around(without needing to rely on Flashbacks everytime).

I personally prefer Barnmates as it is, those 2 have my favorite relationship in the show, I just wish we got more of that, and that the conclusion wasn't rushed. Sadie and Lapis would also have those same problems, except I would probably care less.

I remember on the official podcast, one of the writers mentioned he had an idea of a "bottle" episode that was actually going to poke fun at bottle episodes. The idea was that someone was going to magically get trapped inside a bottle and then the bottle is brought all over town with everyone trying to help free whoever was trapped in the bottle. The joke being that bottle episodes usually feature only 1 or 2 characters, but this episode was going to feature every (Earth based) character.

I still think a good way they could have watered down Ronaldo, would have been him being involved in another Steven Human fusion. But much like Stevonnie and Steg paralleled Garnet and Opal, this fusion would have paralleled the third fusion we saw in the show.. Sugilite. Ergo a fusion that didn't want to defuse, and the Crystal Gems had to fight him to weaken him enough to defuse. Of course they TRY a destabilizer just to see if it would work, obviously it wouldn't due to Steven's immunity to it. The fusion only breaks when Ronaldo's girlfriend shows up crying for him to defuse to see her love again. Then after this moment, Ronaldo becomes less obsessed, but still interesting in gem stuff. THEN also do a future Steven fusion where Steven has a three way fusion with the humans he fused with before, just to showcase it.

If the series returned, I would hope they can get it to be targeted towards the teens and young adults that grew up with it; YA animation is huge right now, they could get ideas across better, and they’d have a big market to tap in to. But I wouldn’t want it to return if it had the horrendous schedule the first one did. So much to be said, a lot was lost because of these two factors.

I definitely prefer seeing Lapis live with Sadie than Peridot. That had more potential for interesting interactions and would've done more to help us believe she grew attached to Earth for reasons other than her just liking a TV show. I don't think they did enough to make us think Lapis and Peridot became real friends as it felt more like she tolerated Peridot than actually liked her. I could see her having more of a connection with Sadie.

I don't know; The fact that Lapis and Peridot make arts together, grow foods on a farm together, have a pumpkin/pet together without troubles, high five one another, laugh together, known for talking with each other off-screen sound like friendship to me. Even if the writers only have 1 and a half season to write their relationship.

I think a middle ground of Lapis' roommate would be great. Lapis and Peri both end up living in a human's bathroom, then at some point (maybe while fighting each other- probably from Peri trying to reach out and become friends) they end up revealing how similar their living situations have been since they got dropped back on earth. Starting on mutual understanding even despite everything else being the same could've given a thing for their relationship to anchor onto. A moment for them to think about when they get mad at each other or get consumed by their previous relationship

Why I'm I surprised to see you talk about Elijah's interview? Anyway, I'm one of those people who understood what Rebecca was trying to do with Pink. I've always saw her as a "child" trying to figure out how to understand, learn, and love (that's not without making a lot of mistakes). I understood it as: Pink wanting to have a baby purely because she wanted to know what it would feel like to be human, to make life, to love and to experience something new. She doesn't undertand that her actions has consequences (and that people cared about her), thus not thinking of what would happen if Steven were to stumble upon the Diamonds.

Rebecca's discussion of lapis and Sadie being roommates reminded me of my original thought for Emberly in my creation, Starbourne. Emberly was originally going to be a villain working with Shadestar. When I thought of Lucian's redemption, I decided Lucian and Emberly would be friends bonding over their shared abuse from Teneber. (Among other bonding reasons)

8:27 ooooo, i like the Mandark idea repurposing busted gem tech and making a bunker that traps them down there but it turns out he doesn't have gem stuff figured out as much as he thinks and they get trapped down there i could sort of see maybe Peridot being needed to step in and untangle this, but maybe it taking a while due to maybe Ronaldo not fully thinking through a lot of the stuff or not fully knowing gem programing or something but yeah, i guess if this was something they hadn't figured out and not all the characters and arc stuff was there at the time and it made them frustrated, scrapping it made sense probably could've helped maybe with a fresh set of eyes and a take that you were describing that could've helped move forward a little but not sure this one is as big of a loss still interesting and a little chuckle worthy

If Perfect Steven was gonna be a thing, I would rather have it as a moment of clarity to say that Steven shoudn't be ashamed or afraid for who he is, and that his mother's actions and powers don't define him, *his actions and powers define him.* Having Steven accept his diamond powers would grant him the controlled buff of Perfect Steven needed to fix whatever predicament he's seen in.
