you know there is one other option. His depression could have been a chemical imbalance. he could have been Clinically depressed. And the act of bringing him back to life... cured the chemical imbalance creating a personality shift in a way that he didn't understand. As he said, he felt... ok... for the first time in his "life" likely, he felt... normal... or like he precieved a normal person would feel.

There was nothing to suggest he'd suddenly be brave enough to take on something most people could only describe as a monster. For him to even consider fighting back is probably more than other characters might have done. (Like, you don't see Jamie fighting for instance, but no one cares because he wasn't presented with the dilemma of whether to save himself or someone else.)

I have a theory that when Lapis or Lars will leave for many episodes, possibly the whole season, but when the gems are about to lose a big fight, one of them comes to save the day. Or both. Be honest, how much would you freak out if the gems are about to lose to a diamond, and you just here, "Bingo Bongo!" and Lars is just flying on Lapis.

Pigerson The Pig I think Lars would probably do something like that. Lapis just seems too pessimistic to try something like that, I mean all she's done since she was introduced is try to run away or avoid problems, rather than actually deal with them. Even when she trapped Jasper in Malachite (something which I might add is only 1 of 2 conflicts we've ever seen her actually try to win), she'd avoid working towards a way to be free but rather just spend her days trapped. My point is, I don't see her being redeemed like that. The writers have made her too much of a pity case, in a way that the only justice for her character is an act of self sacrifice which ultimately results in her death. Lars on the other hand? I wouldn't be surprised if he went back to Earth, considering the whole point of Lar's head was about how he and the Off Colours were going to get to Earth together.

One, Lars has been, and will always be my favorite SU human. Two, I have died before, and when you are revived, and you wake back up, it doesn't feel like you're there for the first few MONTHS, it feels like you're watching somebody live your life, and when you get back in control, you don't feel like you're you anymore, the lines Lars used, "you brought me back to life, let me be somebody who deserves it", he isn't in control, it's the base functions of his now magic brain acting out. He is not Laramie anymore, he is not Lars anymore, he has to become somebody entirely new, he died, and he isn't coming back, somebody better than before is taking his place, but it's still him.

Wouldn't it be safe to assume that Lars changed because he feels comfortable around the off colors? He is accepted by them, something that he's always wanted. Not to mention that the off colors only just met Lars, so he probably doesn't have anxiety over hugging Steven in front of them. Lars and the off colors have a new relationship just starting, the only reason for him to come back to Earth is if the off colors did too or if he found a comfort with everyone now.

I already have a feeling, that Sugar will pull one under us, and Lars will visit home and Sadie a lot more once the war with the diamonds are over. If these 2 characters were Rebecca's first characters in college, it has to have some kind of bondage with her. That she wants these two to have a happy ending. And Sadie dying and becoming Pink is not going to happen. I think she will love Lars, and probably join him on his adventures, but I don't see them not returning to earth. I've always liked Lars. I think a lot of people misinterpret characters as people. Lars has always been a character with depth and had an interesting premise, I have known from day 1 that he would be developed wonderfully, because I'd do the same with a "difficult" character. It's easy to root for a character with many redeemable qualities that has always been heavily hinted to have a tragic past, or obvious reasons to why they act a certain way. Fact is, most people who display troublesome attitudes have a twisted self-perception, they can be both incredibly egocentric, and incredibly insecure. Lars' characterization was raw and genius; he's as unlikable as many teenagers with deep-rooted insecurities are. They push off people that try to help, act cowardly and can be rather unlikable to a widespread audience that's used to rooting for a Pixar underdog, that are openly relatable and not nearly as complex and erratic as real people. The very fact Lars has always been such a terrible person, and for such a long time, made him one of my favorite characters in SU: he's difficult to like, doesn't knows what he truly wants, and matures very slowly, like many of us do. He's the part of us we don't want to see, and are constantly frustrated with.

I think he'll serve Steven and it's kind of pretty fucking obvious that Lars will attempt to get Sadie back. I'm pretty sure Steven would tell Lars to come back. I think there are other wars going on, "Let's make a plan of attack. Start looking forward, and stop looking back" - Yellow Diamond, so Lars may help in those. Though, I strongly believe that Lars has a high level of subservience to Steven, looking at Lion, he will most likely come back. When Lars sees Sadie again, he'll have to fight hard make up for totally abandoning her. She'll probably start trying to make herself like someone else, probably Ronaldo, and he'll go into depth of why he did what he did and apologize but understands if she won't forgive him. Gosh I've seen/read too many romance novels😂 He'll probably grow to love Sadie more, and next time he'll fearlessly fight to keep her safe. Being with the off-colors and fighting with Steven will battle-harden him to the point he'll fight hard. It'll also teach him to not only think about himself, which was just shown in him DYING. Sorry, but like dur it's so obvious where they were going with the last few episodes. Like come on they pretty much are yelling at the top of their lungs "WE'RE GONNA DO A LARS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ARC!!!!!" I'm very big into char. development, I'm doing comics and I want to delve deeply into the human condition😁💖💕

Id love nothing more than for Lars to just carry a picture of sadie and his family to remind himself why he's doing all of this in the first place when he gets an idea of the big picture and the oncoming war. Maybe coming in at the last second with some badass sword skills and helping sadie while the humans try to stand their ground.

W B. I can answer 4 and 5! Rebecca confirmed that lion doesnt have enough strength to bring them lightyears away, he barely had the power to get to the moon. 5. they're gems. If they are damaged and return to their popped form (a normal gem) they can be carried as one. steven could even bubble them to prevent them from returning to form early.

i feel like the reason he won't be coming back to earth is bc, as you said, who he is now cant really correlate w who he was on earth. he probably still has underlying anxiety about it; even if he wants to see his friends and family, what would he do there? he wouldn't be the big, bad space pirate that he is now. he wouldn't feel needed like he does when he's w the Off Colors. bc w them, he is needed. he saved them from their life on Homeworld, he helped them escape, he helped them get to where they are now. how could he possibly go from being someone who is needed by those he cares about, people he literally *died* for, to...just a donut shop worker? going back to earth would be like going back to his depression and anxiety, something he obviously worked to overcome. it just wouldnt fit

He goes on a crazy magical and life changing mission that has altered them so much that they don't feel like they belong on earth anymore therefore causing them to leave behind their old lives for a while.
