I figured Pinks mural is propaganda. Pharaohs didn't have themselves painted true to life, they were painted like gods. And I always thought Blue was wearing her veil in her mural. Yellow is super confidant, so she doesn't need much embellishing on her mural, but if Pink is an off-color, and you don't want the masses to know that, you definitely don't paint her as small and cute.

First of all, PINK isn't DEFECTIVE. She is the only Pink Diamond in existence. PLUS the idea of Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond was thought of before the series started. It would be impossible for a MASSIVE towering Diamond, with a gemstone as large as Steven, could shapeshift into an average soldier with a gemstone smaller than expected. Shapeshifting cannot change the gemstone's size. I mean like her gem is noticeably smaller than Blue and Yellow's. That means, it is her gem that caused her to have that form. It was intended for her form to be like that. Their gems formed before they are injected into the ground (possibly), and so, it is expected for Pink to be small. Take White Diamond as an example. She is MASSIVE, towering over her fellow matriarchs. Which could mean she is the oldest of the Diamond Authority. Also, Pink is the youngest, so my theory: White created Yellow and Blue, but slightly shorter than her, to help her colonize more planets. And then they created Pink. So they could tell who was the oldest, and who was younger. Maybe.... just maybe. Second, take a look at the murals. They were more of like, sharp and full of lines. If you could analyze it, it kind of looks like Pink's hair, only made more dramatic with sharp edges. So there's no bigger picture here. It was just the result of a overly dramatic impression of their Diamond, made with sharp lines, as they couldn't do her signature fluffy and puffy hair. I HAVE MORE EVIDENCE! During "The Trial", Blue Pearl was drawing, but guess what, it was made more with STRAIGHT LINES!

I thought it was just an age thing. White is the oldest, so is the largest, Yellow and Blue are about the same age, and Pink is the youngest. In flashbacks, Amethyst was shown to be in "toddler" forms, and is currently in a more teenage form, because she's gained experience and has simply lived longer, and naturally settles on an older body. Pink's mural also could have been indicative of what she could eventually look like, having matured and grown into her matriarchal role. She just never reached that stage as a Diamond.

I know this is veryyyyy late but what i think is that: Those murals are more of artistic choices since they *don't* represente the accurate appearence of the diamonds,However, i think pink diamond was represented in a more *mature* appearence to emphasize the fact that tge crystal gems feared her and thought of her as a danger threatening earth, but they never thought she would be that innocent, cute and bubbly...i think the point of the murals is to communicate the impression that the diamonds are something huge, holy and very special like a set of gods, of course it won't be represented 100% in details.

I always thought the crystal gems had never actually SEEN Pink diamond, the flashback was metaphorical for fighting her armies. After all, in Garnets stories she depicts her as large, and she always looks like her mural in those scenes. most notable in the scene when she's telling the story to the offcolors and she shows Pink as giant compared to Rose. It is also quite possible that the diamonds were disappointed in her appearance and because of that, they made are her looks and designs bigger and better in the murals. I believe this was also done in the how to train your dragon cartoon series wherein a leader was shown as buff and big in a family portrait but was actually weak and scrawny like Hiccup. This could also explain why she's so upset with them. If they had done this before, she would know how they wanted her to be and be angry at them for not accepting her.

Blue diamonds hair is long and wavy in the mural but now is blocky and shorter. It's closer to her body. What if her hair connects to her emotions just like how pink diamonds powers were based on emotions. In the episode, the trial, her hair flares up when she uses her special diamond power. So when it's out and wavy back then, it shows she was powerful yet eligent. But after pinks "death" her hair formed shorter to represent her lack in self motivation and it's attached to her like that to show how close she felt to pink diamond. But when she uses her power to force gems to cry, it returns to it's old state until she ends the sadness wave. Is this a good theory or no?

And Pearl had a crazy hairstyle, along with legwarmers, which were really popular from the 70's to the 2000's. Amethyst had a black shirt with a purple tanktop, a popular outfit for children of the 80's. And in the 1700's, it was shown that Pearl had a coat with a large tissue used as a scarf, along with an aristocratic wig, which was a noble outfit from the 1690's to the 1820's. And Garnet had the same coat, but with pirate gloves and a tricorn, a hat that was worn from the 1480's to the 1860's, and it menat taht you were a navigator. And Amethyst had a classic ship captain outfit, similar to the 1760's and 1890's sailor. And now, Amethyst wears a shoulderstrap, a -dieing- slightly less popular trend for teenage girls, and Pearl wears a rather fancy but casual outfit and so does Garnet.

I agree somewhat with the maturing theory -- I think Pink's design from the dream we saw and the mural are from different times. I think that Pink's design from the dream was a little bit after when she was first created because we know she didn't have any colonies yet. I feel that as time progressed, she changed the way she looked to "fit in" with the other diamonds. I think she was still the bubbly, eager, diamond we saw in the dream, however, she had to act mature and look mature so she could gain approval of the other diamonds. She would do this because Yellow had said to start acting like she was just as important as the others, so she had every motive to "fit in." The murals also could've been made when each diamonds received their colonies. I honestly think I put too much thought into one little comment, but who agrees/disagrees with me?

I agree with this theory and also just to add on....based on the episode ‘The Trial’ we know that changing ones form as a gem isn’t an unfamiliar concept to the Diamonds. When Yellow Diamond saw Steven for the first time she exclaimed “Is that Rose Quartz?! Look at that hideous form she’s taken!” Neither of the Diamonds doubted that Steven was in fact Rose; they just went along with it as if it’s something that’s a common occurrence.

First of all, PINK isn't DEFECTIVE. She is the only Pink Diamond in existence. PLUS the idea of Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond was thought of before the series started. It would be impossible for a MASSIVE towering Diamond, with a gemstone as large as Steven, could shapeshift into an average soldier with a gemstone smaller than expected. Shapeshifting cannot change the gemstone's size. I mean like her gem is noticeably smaller than Blue and Yellow's. That means, it is her gem that caused her to have that form. It was intended for her form to be like that. Their gems formed before they are injected into the ground (possibly), and so, it is expected for Pink to be small. Take White Diamond as an example. She is MASSIVE, towering over her fellow matriarchs. Which could mean she is the oldest of the Diamond Authority. Also, Pink is the youngest, so my theory: White created Yellow and Blue, but slightly shorter than her, to help her colonize more planets. And then they created Pink. So they could tell who was the oldest, and who was younger. Maybe.... just maybe. Second, take a look at the murals. They were more of like, sharp and full of lines. If you could analyze it, it kind of looks like Pink's hair, only made more dramatic with sharp edges. So there's no bigger picture here. It was just the result of a overly dramatic impression of their Diamond, made with sharp lines, as they couldn't do her signature fluffy and puffy hair. I HAVE MORE EVIDENCE! During "The Trial", Blue Pearl was drawing, but guess what, it was made more with STRAIGHT LINES!

Hamtaro perhaps pink was fused, but I think that’s highly unlikely. What I think is either A: Garnet was still fairly new to fusion and still had trouble perceiving things and paired with Ruby’s emotions portrayed her in a more menacing light, or B: simply had a higher ground and perspective led her to appear bigger than normal. Honestly when first thinking about this, my mind went straight to pass monarchy portraits. Back in olden times, the people of the country extremely rarely or never saw the monarch (king or queen at the time), so a way for them and other countries to see what the King or Queen looks like was through portraits. For example, Elizabeth I, was extremely clever in how her portraits showed her, including items that showed her power and leadership over the country, presenting her a a strong, beautiful ruler. It was a common use of Kings and queens as a strong leader, equals to a strong country. I believe that it would be safe to assume that the common gem would very rarely or never see the diamonds. Only gems that were close to the diamonds would actually see them. As how pink diamond is, it would be safe to assume that the diamonds would definitely not want her to be seen as it would show a them in a lower power that even a diamond could come out wrong. I believe that as pink was taken more seriously and given the earth, she designed or had something else design, the image we see at the moon base (possibly shape shifting in to what she want gems to see her as) The reason for this is so that she would be looked down on by homeworld, being seen as a weak gem and ruler. She didn’t want the same opinion of what the gems had on her as what the diamonds had on her, but that’s just my little theory (Forgive me of my grammar not being the best)

I've always had a theory that the Blue Diamond mural reflected who she was before she lost her fellow Gem. Both the hair and dress seem more... open, like she's still a gentler kind of gem like she is now, but more relaxed and somewhat happier. In addition, this could represent her having a more open-book like personality, where she was actually out there and interacting with other gems, as opposed to the current design where she is dressed so conservatively, and her hair wraps around her chest, covering herself. I dunno, it's just a little trend in designs that I thought would be neat, I'm not really that good at describing this stuff.

Well the Pink Diamond we saw in the latest episode could have been young, she did act like a young upset kid, and could have grown out of her short hair just like Amethyst did. When we saw her in earlier episodes with flashbacks Amethyst had short hair and now her hair is long.

And if Blue is anything to go by, the diamonds wear removable clothes as well. i think that that was from thousands of years ago, and possibly the diamonds can increase in size depending on how powerful they are at that time. yellow diamond in the flashback actually looked smaller than she did in the trial. pink diamond may have gained more power and grew larger because of it, or she chose to wear limb enhancers in order to make herself look a lot larger?? her hair in the mural also was a lot longer, so another reason why i think the flashback was from thousands of years ago.

Hey Vox, I think you'll be interested in this; In Jungle Moon. If we compare the sizes of Yellow Diamond, Pink Diamond, and Stevonnie. You can sort of see that Yellow actually seems smaller than she does in other episodes like The Trial. And since Pink is so much smaller than we see her depicted later on, I think this; What if a diamond's size is determined by their power? Those with more power, colonies, and soldiers, may physically be bigger.

Okay so, here's an idea: if Diamonds don't poof, what if they just regenerate their body parts after they're deeply injured? If this is true, then perhaps Pink got hurt really badly on the head or neck and had to "replace" her own head.
