unfortuantely that would require a lot more doing, as crocker's desire for fairies had been twisted into a desire for power, which we have seen. There’s a lesson about Crocker (and Plankton from SpongeBob): the dangers of obsession. Crocker is a really intelligent and excellent inventor, but he wasted his talents over his obsession and only becomes more misera'ble as time goes on. It started when he lost his fairy godparents in a situation he had no control over. While it was a sad event, it wasn’t the end of the world as proven by his college years. The moment he unveiled his obsession, he lost his girlfriend, investors, and credibility. His girlfriend leaves him out of embarrassment, his investors back out, and he comes a laughingstock in the entire auditorium. Worst of all, had it been an actual gadget, then he likely would’ve never been a laughingstock and he could’ve been a college professor like in “It’s a Wishful Life”, but we all know what happens after that. He gets’s a job as a teacher, but only since he thinks it’ll get him closer to fairies. He hates the job and makes it no secret to the students that he hates them, too. His obsession has intertwined with his work to where he doesn’t even care if the other teachers and his own students know if he’s insane. The moment he became a teacher was the beginning of the end for Crocker, because it marked the start of his mental decline. Crocker’s life is a tragic tale, made sadder by its preventability. He had multiple chances to drop his fairy obsession and use his skills to better humanity without fairy magic. Ironically, even when he tries to change his life for the better, magic would always force him back to his obsession (as shown in Channel Chasers ending and Crocker Shocker). Anyway, this was a really great character analysis video on Crocker! I don’t see that many videos on Crocker, so it’s always nice when his character get’s discussed. He seems so goofy on the surface, but there’s so much about his goals and backstory that makes him such a sad character.
@android77643 ай бұрын
I honestly feel for Crocker. I feel like in a way, he's a different take of the character the Joker. All it takes is one bad day in order to lose one's sense of self & go insane. They say insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly & expecting the result. To borrow a line from Disney's "Meet The Robinsons," "It would have been better if he just let the past go & just kept moving forward." But where I find empathy with Crocker is that, I get it. Imo I don't think Crocker really cares about fairies. From a therapists perspective, I think what he's seeking is validation. No matter how old Crocker gets or how much time passes, he's still that little kid stuck on March 15th 1970 wondering WTF happened to his life. Even though as an old woman, his mother cares for him but from Crocker's perspective, it's too little too late. Where was that when he was neglected growing up? Where was she when her absence & oblivious neglect GAVE him Cosmo & Wanda in the first place. Crocker is really a tragic character because he's just a broken child looking for that one thing to make him feel whole again & when he did feel whole, he had Cosmo & Wanda, two of the biggest influences on his life that he can't even remember & only exist as a subconscious ghost of a directive that he gave himself in order to not forget the time he had with them. Yes, he causes a lot of his misfortune on himself due to his obsession & even when he tries to get over it, it's his belief in fairies that keeps Fairy world running so his obsession is a universal necessity until more people passively believe in fairies. So basically, he's stuck in this perpetual hell that he not only put himself in but is being kept in for the benefit of others all as punishment for something he didn't even initially cause on himself. How many of us have been in a situation where we were punished for something well beyond our control that we didn't even contribute to & the universe somehow said that was fair & made us eat it? How many of us were kicked & have been kicked while we were down, forced to eat shit & then told we have to say thank you & be grateful because things could be worse? How many of us are invalidated daily & all we want is that one moment in the sunshine knowing that all the pain, all the suffering was worth it? That the gaslighting, the torture, the abuse was exposed & you finally get that moment where you're seen & every shitty thing everyone has ever said about you was wrong. Saddest thing of all is the relatability of Crocker.. Because all he truly wants is validation, to be seen & to get back what's been taken away from him. Yes, he should just let go & move on but for what he's been through. Deep down I get it. Some things you simply can't let go because the trauma is so deep it becomes who you are. Letting it go means losing your sense of self which at times is the most painful thing a grown man can do because it invalidates your own history & the journey that made your personality what it is today. So even though he's crazy, even though he's an antagonist that makes kids lives miserable, sadly I understand why he is the way that he is & part of me is proud of his dedication & determination as twisted & demented as he is.

Had Jorgen not interfered in that moment, Timmy could have gone back, stopped himself from interfering to much and if anything just keep Cosmo and Wanda, mostly Cosmo busy away from the event. As for hippy Cosmo, again, same thing, have present Cosmo and Wanda lure him and hippy Wanda off to chat or play long enough for Crocker to give his speech, everyone applaud, and fix things for Crocker.

I was kinda expecting Hazel would have learned why he was like that, and she goes through getting him helped. Being all "It wasn't his FAULT he lost his fairies, and he deserves to get a better life" Seriously look at his backstory that he was JUST like Hazel. Caring, using his Fairies to help people, etc. I could see the special could have been called "Crock of Lies" or "Crock and Punishment" Where Hazel bets her right to having fairies on proving he didn't deserve to lose them. If she fails, she loses her fairies. But obviously she'd win, and he'd get his memories restored. Maybe even using it as a way to have Timmy Cameo as an adult, called as a witness. Where they temporarily restore his memories to affirm Hazel's claims. With the final witness being Jorgan who gives a similar shock as with that finale, being all "No he revealed his fairies" Only for Hazel to ask for proof, where a reanimated flashback is played using magic. And Jorgan retracts his statement and agrees that he was wrong. Now they wouldn't undo the original moment Timmy messed up, but instead just restores his memories and his looks based on how he WOULD have looked if they never meddled. Either he would keep his memories and act as a friendly fairy defender, OR loses his memories again but this time only once without getting ruined by it. Being able to say goodbye, and saying "You too have a great godkid now. And hazel... Thank you, I feel so much better now. You are a good kid."

Well, Timmy's not fully responsible; Timmy's interaction was more or less a roundabout way of getting to the same conclusion. We saw that 60's Cosmo was just one word away from exposing the secret, when Timmy interfered; we also see Dog-Wanda turn the power to the microphones _off._ So had this been all that happened, Crocker would've been _saved._ But the problem is, Dog-Cosmo shows up and turns power to the mics back on, prompting 60's Parrot-Cosmo to reveal himself. But yeah, I like all the statements that Crocker is a product of the flawed Fairy-System. But when you think about it...While he's undoubtedly the most extreme example, he actually represents the _inevitable_ end-result. I think one of the biggest problems with Crocker is that his memory was erased; meaning that all the good-times with Cosmo and Wanda are gone; and since those were the only happy-memories he had, he's now left with _nothing._ And worse, the show establishes that this is inevitable for all godkids - whether they reveal their secret or simply grow-up and no longer _need_ their Fairies anymore. Their lives will literally _peak in childhood,_ and it will be all downhill from there. They'll have to face the cold, indifferent world _alone,_ with the people who arguably cared about them the most _ripped from their lives._ Plus, the hostile manner in which Jorgen did it, really goes to show how cold and indifferent the system is to the suffering it's causing. Jorgen really deserved a punch in the face for it. But even more than that, I think Crocker is also a commentary on society as a whole. When Crocker first presented his idea of proving Fairies exist, while he certainly wanted to abuse the power, he didn't seem as power-mad as he would later become. It sounded like had they actually given him the funding and he'd succeeded, he could have genuinely made the world a better place... Instead they laughed at him, and rejected him as a madman. That kind of stuff would make anyone bitter; he literally had the best years of his life ripped away from him and has nothing good about his life to revisit. And now, when he's making his presentation that could have easily put his life on easy-street, he loses everything _again._ So in the end, his goal to capture a Fairy is no longer about proving their existence and being validated for being right, or improving the world where he can. No, instead it's about _Revenge._ If Crocker took over the world with magic, he could have literally infinite avenues to improve society and make it a better place. But because society and all the people in it treated him so badly, he now wants to put society under his boot-heel. He turns the world into a dystopian wasteland where he controls all resources, and people are forced to live in tin-roofed shacks, wearing matching uniforms devoted to him. I think that's a commentary on how cruel life can be. From the perspective of an adult, Childhood can sometimes be viewed as life's _great lie._ A temporary period where your worries are trivial and easily solved and happiness and comfort are never far away. Then you're thrust unceremoniously into adulthood where you now have to fend for yourself and you find out how little the world outside your family and peer-group actually cares about you. The utter indifference to your suffering makes you feel even more alone. I'm pretty sure that for most people, if they were given the upper-hand and could exist completely free of consequences, the first thing they'd do is try to get-back at society as well.

Well, at the end of "Crocker Shocker", Jorgen started gaining power from all the lunatics in the world so Crocker's belief isn't needed anymore....
@mechajay33583 ай бұрын
You can say that its really _Cosmo_ and _Jorgen's_ fault why Crocker is the way he is. The former for being a complete idiot and revealing to the public he has fairies and the latter for wiping Crocker's memories way too much that it drove him insane.
@starkiller12893 ай бұрын
In Jorgens defense Crocker apparently had a perfect photographic mind since he continued to remember that fairies exist which is something Da Rules don't allow so he had to. Though why he didn't just wipe them with his wand when the 3rd time the neuralizer failed is a mystery.

Crocker's condition most likely falls under the same conditions as true love. When the person believes very strongly in their feelings magic can't get rid of it. The best case scenario is what happen when Vicky became a good person that meanness has to go somewhere so you would be making another Crocker if not worse.
@tarasantisteban78813 ай бұрын
2:42- I always assumed (and I am still sticking to it btw) that Vick was Vicky's dad who ultimately had a change of heart as he grew older.😢 So much more angst in this show than I remember!!!😱

Not just timmy, he was trying to make children miserable in general, it's was just easier to do so to Timmy That's why he became a teacher!

At 13:55 you asked for proof that crocker’s mom was also part of the blame. Truthfully it’s because of her he was miserable when he was young. She only wants to support him so he can leave.

Why didn’t Timmy just wish that he never went to the past and met kid Crocker?
@icedragonaftermath3 ай бұрын
Oh, Timmy was prevented from doing so by Jorge n. Not sure why officially, but fans tend to prefer the interpretation that because fairy magic used to be powered by belief in fairies, Crocker's level of obsessiveness was basically the main power source for the Big Wand in Fairy World. So Jorgen basically had to prevent Timmy from undoing what he did for Fairy World to keep running. I think that only really applied to the present Jorgen though and I think past Jorgen just didn't like a future kid undoing the mind-wipe he had just done, but I could be wrong.

I like the idea that, before Crocker dies, Cosmo and Wanda come to him and tell him that fairies do exist and that he didn't waste his life. Although I wouldn't put it past him to have some Batman style contingency plan that puts Crocker's brain in a robot body so he lives forever in the event that happens.

What if Crocker got his fairies back later on for a short time or that S9 episode was the original way Crocker lost his fairies and the March 15 episode takes place after that episode with Timmy causing Crocker to lose his fairies at an earlier point?
@gamercouleur4625Ай бұрын
That's exactly the theory I was thinking of! Because S9 has to be canon since Sparky was referenced in ANW, so I imagine that the theory would be that Crocker first had to be bad with his fairies, losing them as in the S9 episode then getting them back for some unknown reason, perhaps his babysitter came along then. He then became good with Cosmo and Wanda and the events of the S3 episode unfold. I think it makes sense because Timmy mentions that he knows Crocker had Cosmo and Wanda as a kid in the S9 episode, but he can only know that if the S3 episode took place. Thanks for reading!

Croker’s origin is actually an eternal causality loop which causes both the past and present versions of Jorgen to declare that nobody is allowed to interfere with it thus making it a fixed point in time.

Mr Crocker actually makes ALOT of money as School teacher. Or at the very least is able to use his intelligence to embezzle funds the government gives the school to him. Problem is he spends all of it on stuff to hunt Fairies. If he didn’t, he would easily be able to live on his own. Not to mention hes super over qualified to be a school teacher anyway, and is only there because of the proximity to children. He literally was roomates with Steven Hawking.

I agree Hazel is a nice good character who has positive vibes who would make Denzel crocker to have a change of heart to finally get validation and respect he deserves as an NPC that would be a perfect ending for Crocker's character helping the fairy's for a change I hope they do it in season 2 of fairly odd parents a new wish to give him a happy ending

There is something that was forgotten in the report. Crocker was first a professor at Yale (where he was fired for using research funds to create a laboratory to hunt fairies) then he went to Colegio Comunitario de Baltimore, where he was using Baltimou's material in his obsession and only then had to accept a job in an elementary school.

Crocker's worsening character post season 5 is one of the many reasons I don't watch further than season 5 (plus, it's where my DVD collection ends, but I also have no plans on getting beyond season 5 anyway), as the show really just went downhill. Even Peri being the great character he is isn't enough for me to watch his baby years in the form of seasons 6-10.

How ironic it must be, that Timmy crated half of his villains? If he’d never gone back to the past to prevent Croker from going crazy, he wouldn’t have become the insane fairy hunter we know.

At the very Least Hazel could see if she could fix some of Crocker's life in present day like giving him a hybrid appearance permanently of what he looks like in a new wish and what he would have looked like if Timmy had stayed in the present at the time.

You could say Jorgen decided to give Crocker another chance, since he technically did not reveal his Fairly OddParents and threw in Sparky as a way of apologizing for memory wiping & letting an angry mob chase him around , most likely it was the tooth fairy that made jargon do this since he ruined Crocker’s teeth & you know how to tooth fairy gets when it comes to teeth , I think Jorgen just made up the rule about 11 years old No longer needing godparents ,because maybe he actually thought therapy would actually help him, it actually did in one episode unfortunately, also the episode Jorgen, had the bright idea of having fairy world powered by Crockers belief in fairies

Honestly they probably should have just had Crocker takes meds to calm down, had his life progress to be better, but they could keep the fair bits by having him miss his medication, so it becomes a quirk he has as a well respected scientist instead of the sad man he is now. They could even include bits where he has an assistant that goes around with him and when he has one of his "episodes" his assistant runs off to get his meds.

Just thought about this now but what if the recent crocker is still with in his mother's house was because he was supposed to inherit it. It would explain a couple of things in the show but because he's obsessed with fairy so much he missed out on the mortgage and have to go sell his home which would explain why he's there in a New wish. The show could easily prove me wrong but it does explain a few things.

Sparky is here as a puppy. Just how long does it take for a fairy or in this fairy dog to reach adulthood. I mean, in the OG live action Fairy God Parents movie, Poof was still a baby and just started talking when Timmy was like 24-years-old.
@vampiricn1ght3 ай бұрын
My favorite Crocker bit is the Secret Wish. When Timmy loses his fairies and time gets moved up 50 years, he's nonchalant about talking with Timmy because its so obvious he has no fairies by that point. He's just casually talking with Timmy and going on about how Fairies are definitely real, but Timmy was now a dead end since he's definitely never heard of fairies and isn't a godkid anymore
