seriously though that rubber banding of sonic is probably the most absurd case of it existing in a video game race I ever seen. The only thing that would make it even more impressive is if tails had a faster fall speed and wasn't floating down so slowly. If sonic moved that fast in his story, he would probably cut off half the time it takes to complete all his stages normally. Or I guess in the case of race, more likely just had the game teleport his model through the stage to catch up.
