You lied in the caption. She didn't defeat the African runners. She LOST to one of them. You lied for clicks. Shame.

Hi Thank you for sharing videos, I think this race maybe the Great North Run not in the south of England but the north east, The biggest half marathon in the UK. Great performance by Gemma, I hope she give the food voucher away to the African s! Cheers Mark!

The Great North Run cannot be on the south coast of England !! Duhhh

That was an impressive race! Steele was simply outclassed.

By one runner. She defeated all of the others.

Gema looks pretty strong as well - not overly thin - that was power that could throttle up and down a bit - very similar to Katy Hodgkinson with those very nice upper thighs she has - they are thin until she gets running and then that muscle pumps up
@ianbarnett50512 күн бұрын
Yes, she might make a half decent runner one day.

I enter a lot of local races that Gemma takes part in and invariably wins. She is still really quick and I am always in awe 😮

I agree, that is one sick down hill. I always hated down hills in cross country and in road races, I always did better running the up hills. Mary ran a excellent race and Gema ran a very good race herself. The third place runner wasn't too shabby either running around 5:15 per mile for the half marathon. The average male runner in good form can't run 5:15 mile pace for 13 miles straight. Hats off to all the women runners! Thanks for covering another wonderful woman's race the Runner !

Gemma Steele has a Wikipedia page. Between 2011 and 2015 she was an excellent cross country runner for the British team.

Thank you for passing that on. Will look here up. Amazing athlete.

She was a lot more than just an excellent cross country runner between 2011 and 2015.

Just did a search on J Steel. She still competes in county Masters races and has been recently (2023/2024) running Parkruns in the 16 minute range.

In my youth I used to run the 5km running distance of a triathlon sprint under 16 minutes - My best time on a a half Marathon 1H21. On long distance I've never been a good runner

Correct.

That steep decent hurt my old back just watching - it brought back memories of having almost decelerate so you don't loose control - again a muscular body type could go either way - in theory that down hill can become a super charger or the opposite and injury time

Why is she team GB and not English? You say Scottish for Scottish runners, doesn't make sense
@adrianhowell9682 күн бұрын
it maybe she's representing the uk,how many times was Andy Murray referred to as British?Geriant Thomas was British when he won the tour de france,but he soon changed that by wearing the welsh flag on his shoulders,Chris frome was British,rubbish, born in Zimbabwe, Martin Johnson England Rugby captain,rubbish,born in New Zealand, Tony Lewis,England cricket captain ,rubbish,born in Wales,notice a certain trend.

Thank you for the video, very interesting story, indeed. A couple of things I thought as I watched; you didn't need to identify the British runner as "the one in the blonde pony tail" when it was her and the two African runners; the title is not quite right, as she didn't defeat all of the Kenyan runners.

My one criticism is how you list or headline your video's - whatever suspense you have - you lose by telling the outcome - it makes zero sense - I've seen fantastic Tennis Matches or Games ruined by simply 'listing the winner' - then why watch it ? otherwise this coverage is great

It’s called clickbait and unfortunately it’s the only way to gain money on KZbin.

@@alb.1911 Well it would be BETTER click bait if I did not know the outcome - he does a fantastic job of providing suspense during the video - it's just I already know the outcome
