Intricate and exact thoughts for your reaction. I think a group has to grow and expand, and although they have a great formula focusing on "ear-worm" songs with melodies that get stuck in your head, I think its good for a group to develop and change genre/concept... but i trust your experience and knowledge so I can see you know what works for them !

K-Pop is definitely heading into a more like artsy-experimental era. And I'm here for it. You still have the in your face spectacle videos but seeing these more toned down visuals and story driven videos that are done in interesting ways, it's a lot more fascinating. Because K-pop music in general is pretty experimental and layered (for the most part) so it always felt like adding layers in visuals would make it feel "too much" but in reality it just shows that if you know what you're doing... then do it. NewJeans really changed a lot to be honest. The entire industry feels like it's more tolerant and moves away from a lot stereotypes (the more negative ones) so that's only good to see. I feel like this started with late 3rd gen, including BP's second stint/ Born Pink era especially and BTS solo releases as well. But definitely took another more aggressive turn with NewJeans, IVE, Le Sserafim, aespa, XG, NMIXX, etc. You start to see a lot of different stuff coming out in terms of both music and visuals. K-pop is definitely more varied today than ever. It's great.

I dont like this deviation in their music. The charts also show people dont care about them being "relatable". Ive being alluring and untouchable is what made them appealing. This is just too mundane, boring and not interesting. I loathe that yujin cut her hair for such a boring comeback. It doesnt have the effect they expected. I just hope they go back to really good music. This was not it. Even baddie was bad.
