The whole thing confuses me and makes me think how hard this is gonna get. Might as well just custom make the gun so that its simplistic and not as much detailed as this, and just uses the basic mechanisms

Use pvc pipes instead of cardboard in the construction of the bolt you really need to be skilled to make cardboard that way to look and be durable

For those who really want to make this type of gun I'd recommend to use pvc pipes in the construction of the bolt its way easier to make it that way and more durable.
