I love what you said about being proud of yourself for trying something (like trying to stop biting your nails) and not upset at yourself for failing! We could all use more self-compassion! Great video.

Just here to say that I am fascinated with everything I am learning on this channel AND everyone should definitely get a "Nail Assessment" from Anna! It only costs 25 Euros and the amount of information and the detailed explanation is 100% top notch! Totally worth the price! I am so happy I did it. Can't wait to get home from work so that I can shorten my nails (with my fine smooth diamond nail file) to prevent breakage at the stress point! Thank you so much, Anna.💖💅

Anna, you are so talented! Your client has improved so greatly! Her nails look beautiful! I want to thank you for your tutorial on how to properly care for my nails several months ago with additional teaching about the nail structures and introducing us to the gentleman you were learning from. That was a game changer for me! My nails are doing so well since I have employed your technique for proper cuticle removal and many other things, as well. Again, thank you so much! ♥️🌹👏🏻

Ive been following your channel for a long time. After watching your most recent nail upkeep video I was inspired to start from scratch. I had gel on a few nails because to preserve the length. I cut all my nails down where you could barely see the whites. I then gave them a simple filing to make them look nice. Over the course of two months I allowed the gel to loosen which i then buffed off. I file my nails once a week, use kerasal a few days a week and use my diy nail oil every day ( a few times a day) My nails look fantastic! In two weeks I'll be ready for simple polish again. Thanks again!

I bit my nails for 30 years ( as did my sister ) getting fake nails ( glue on a home ) not fancy acrylic, meant I lost the satisfaction of biting them. I’ve a feeling the shellac might work similarly. Less chips. Less temptation. But she’ll be so delighted to stop biting. Give them love and attention and then file if tempted. I hope this helps her ! 😅

Why did I always think that it's important to buff nails only in one direction?! I trust you absolutely, that's why I'm asking... I really love your content. Not everyone wants long gel/acrylic/ hybrid gel nails. And every time I learn something new. You're an amazing teacher! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Love from Croatia 💙

Hello Dora! Filing in 1 direction seems to be an old wives tale. I've been filing like this for 25 years and my clients don't experience peeling. Peeling is from damaged surface and not which direction you file. Also if you file with coarser file the finish will be rough and it can catch on things. So then either smooth the edge with a buffer block or use a fine file Here how scientist explains it 👉 FILING NAILS IN 1 DIRECTION? by Doug Schoon kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpXTp5d6f56qgKs

That is so cool!😃 I've never seen that product done before! Two thumbs up!👍👍 I use regular nail polish on my nails at home. I've heard that once in a while, you should give your natural nails a break from nail polish. Is that true? If so, how long should the break be? Thank you🌸

Great videos! Quick question, Why don't you ever soak the cuticles?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Because before any enhancement service you don't want to soak in water. Hand washing is OK because its just few second but soaking for few minutes makes the nail swell up and the product doesn't bond as well.

Hey Anna, I have the softest nails ever, literally like baby's nails, you can bend them and it doesn't hurt at all (they are not peeling). They are also super thin. Is there any possible change I could do to make them better?

Would u happen to know which vitamin deficiencies cause ridges and brittle nails. And any topical products to help?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Ridges are a normal part of aging, some people have them earlier than others. Brittle nails are usually caused by contact with water and detergents and not really caring for the nails properly Here is a video explaining care for brittle nails kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6CWZGibjMtpiJY I would say majority of nail issues stem from lack of proper care and improper manicures (way too aggressive). Constant nail polish wear can also add to the surface damage.

Anna had a short “how to care” video a while back. Her oil recommendations have been a game changer for me. Oil molecule size plays a huge role. The biggest learning for me was oil and/or lotion after every hand washing and water exposure.

looks like you are filing some of the dry skin on the proximal nail fold. i thought we shouldn’t remove it?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Hi Love, Hardened skin can be smoothed safely if it's done lightly, specially when people tend to pick and bite. This is why I like to compare if I see progress or not. I see that with this treatments client comes back with nails that are progressively better. There is a difference between hard skin and dry skin. Dry skin can be gently exfoliated but it has to be done very gently. They key is to exfoliate it gently and not try to "remove it" You know what I mean? This can be achieved with use or creams like Kerasal and using oil after hand washing but clients usually don't do this.

Hi, I never had my cuticles removed, in fact I only removed living skin ( I dont do it anymore though )...So my question is, I dont see much cuticles on my nails, so if I remove them will I have more in the future?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Cuticle is a dead skin cells that "fell" off the living skin and are stuck to the nail plate. So no, if you remove it, you won't get more cuticle. If you don't have too much then that's great, no need to remove it.

What are your favorite hema free gel and monomer and primer available in eu?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Honestly I don’t think HEMA is the problem. Lack of knowledge on how to work with it is the problem. Also, irresponsible formulating with it is the problem or any other chemical for that matter. Stick with reputable companies and products that are manufactured in USA, Canada, EU. Not “designed” (means nothing) but manufactured. If already allergic to HEMA, HEMA free products will cause allergy too.
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Ps. I don’t use gels really. I know that Light Elegance is HEMA free but I didn’t have great results with the line. Cnd Shellac is HEMA free but it doesn’t mean that it can’t cause allergic reaction when cured and used improperly. Usually HEMA free products don’t bond as well. If clients pick off peeling gel they cause damage to the nails which is problematic too. Because all of these products believe it or not are designed to be used on normal and healthy nails. Not thin and damaged nails.

Pozdrawiam

Given that you had to file the shine off the no wipe top coat, do you think there is any point to it? It really doesn’t seem that hard wiping the top coat
@helen.2222

i think it's more long lasting
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Very good question! I wondered myself so I just had to try. I find the application a bit easier since the top coat is thinner. I like the thin look. Wiping also doesn’t bother me. I do find it more difficult to soak off. So you “save time” on wiping but then you have to scuff it. Of course CND does not teach that so you don’t *have* to but it takes longer to soak off then? I think it’s more shiny too. I have to compare it side by side. Might be longer lasting.
