Leny yoro is a good defender But he isnt elite on the ball...and also isnt press resistant. He isnt consistently breaking lines with his passing and when he is pressed aggressively he doesnt really dribble out. Branthwaite is much much worse so of course yoro is a better buy. Beyond being a left footer... branthwaite is really lousy. Would rather buy deligt who is 2 footed

I would be careful with expectations of a young player in his breakthrough season and I wouldn't put him higher than Kamwala regarding expectations!He is a risk and Madrid do not gamble with youths in defence as it is very risky! Apart from youtube clips,I have never watched a full game of Lille until end of last season against Rennes and in that game he was shaky and making so many mistakes! Perhaps it was a one off but it serves as a reminder to regulate expectations around young defenders who are hyped! Defenders especially young ones can have confidence issues when they make mistakes leading to goals!

I don't get how the tackle success rate works as an analytic metric here with De Ligt at 12 tackles being compared to others. IMO it's not a great stat to go with especially when many of these CBs have not played a full season. Use a aggregate of this stat accross multiple seasons for a better representation. If say Harry Maguire had played 10 games against weaker opposition, and made 15 tackles with 14 successful, it's looks great on paper, but doesnt mean anything. I do like the rest of the analysis, and am hoping Yoro chooses us over Madrid.

Why insisting on a player who’s club see’s as a cash cow, the only thing he has is defensive ability but doesn’t articulate the speed and recovery ability that the position demands. I don’t think Braithwaite is worth 50m. He still needs time to develop. Yoro on the other hand only want to play for RM which I think is not possible for him to play as starter for RM. So his best option is to move to Man utd for 3-4 years and a possible transfer to RM after. Remember players come and go easily and some player might be peak now but it’s not a guarantee that they will be on top and most wanted player the seasons after. My bet is he will come to United and he will improve our defence

It seems the chaos continues. First its reported a player has been signed then its someone else. Then there are 3 world class players in limbo. There is no need to spend millions . Just settle differences between manager and players. I would think the club need an experienced central defender not a young player who has no experience in the top leagues. The French league is a secondary competition.. That is why Mason Greenwood should go nowhere near Marseille. He is to good. He should go to a club in Spain ,Germany or Italy.
