While Calcutta (now Kolkata) was the capital of India, but in summers it got very hot for Britishers so they used to spend the summer in Shimla and Darjeeling. So, they used to move everything with them all the way to Shimla.

Shimla was summer capital of British🇬🇧 india or British officers. Similarly dargelling was another place where britishers initiated Tea garden farming first time in India.. Soon Darjeeling tea with its distnct flavors and aroma. Dargelling became brand of international tea. So once visit Darjeeling very beautiful place to visit... If you having enough time once visit North eastern part of India ( the Scotland of India)

Trust me. I live in Shimla and every time I visit my village which is a 3-4 hour ride, I end up getting motion sickness .There are so many turns and If you ever were to come near my village the road is so bumpy that it is not possible to drive fast (above the speed of 30kmph) even if you want to. The narrow ,bumpy and curvy roads won't let you do that unless you have a death wish and want to experience going directly down the mountains once. Also in winters it's cold so that adds to the reasons I don't want to travel by car or bus. I would rather walk for 10 hours if possible.

2:44 I think you are completely unaware of Indian history..The architectures in shimla are made by state government and not all structures are british made..In addition, Britishers made shimla their summer capital because of its cold climate and for their own interests..Britishers didnt built any infrastructure for the people of India and infact one or two goods train which was built was only meant for transferring goods and raw materials between two distant places..Before the Britishers came to India, India was the Richest Nation in the World accounting for more than 24% of World trade..After Britishers left India at 1947, India's growth rate was 0.001% and the life expectancy was below 27 also they left after dividing India into two parts by sowing the seed of discrimination on the basis of religion and divide and rule policy... India was the Golden Bird before the Britishers arrival in India...Even columbus tried reaching India and ended up in a wrong route founding US..The portuguese, french, dutch, etc came to India to seek trade..But post 1600, the britishers who came to India overpowered them all and captured the entire trading area through wars and various territory extending policies to rule over India as their sole purpose was to drain the entire wealth from India and to Loot and Plunder India and if you read history year by year, you would find that britishers left no stone unturned in looting and plundering India...More than 13 famines occured in India during British rule with the biggest one being the great bengal famine with over 10 million people losing their lives..During World War, the entire food supply from bengal was diverted towards the military leaving millions starve to death..Britishers made kolkata their headquarters as it was the biggest province back then..Britishers also used Indians in World war with the fake promise of giving freedom and got more than 56000 Indians killed fir them...Moreover, Indian goods and raw materials were taken away from India and exported to Europe and the remaining used up materials were brought back to India and sold to Indians at Double and Triple the actual price.. According to an estimated report which was even read at UK parliament, britishers looted and plundered India of $45 Trillion.. Even the kohinoor diamond was taken away forcefully and was termed acquired.. And not only loot and plunder but there are uncountable crimes committed by the Britishers in India ranging from Rape and murder , Jallianwala bagh massacre, Tarapore massacre, charging more than double tax , permanent settlement, subsidary alliance to get hold of Indian rulers , rowlatt act to arrest Indian fredom fighters without any trials and many more.. In a nutshell, britishers committed uncountable crimes against hunanity and are the biggest colonial criminals in human history..And the hilarious thing us that, in british history books, they have glorified their wrongdoings by writing " they went to India to make it civilized " when in reality they looted and plundered India and reduced it to ashes in 1947 with not even enough food to sustain its population for a month and divided India into two parts..
