Ever since they didn't award Rocha points for saying Lena Headley, it's been established that a player can't just say something that's "close enough". If you are unsure write it phonetically like JTE did with Japeto. Elba and Alba do not sound alike. I see no reason Andreyko would write Alba unless he really thought that's how you say his last name. I could tell Sneider agreed with Bateman and Reilly on the challenge. It's something he would have challenged had he had the opportunity. I hope Andreyko was just playing the heel. He has been on record that he has made challenges if for nothing else to rattle his opponents. I don't think Bateman was using the repeats to be a dick. He has been on record of saying he is going to use all the time he can to answer a question correct. When it's a 5 pointer you may as well make sure you know what the question is asking and think if there's any way you are wrong.
@outlawnation51604 жыл бұрын
AJL agree, that’s why Ben is the best. Use all the tools and time you can ,
@Rougestar984 жыл бұрын
it looked like Sneider agreed with with Ben and Rilley agreed with Andrako. I personally agree with the desk. Spelling mistakes shouldn't count against the person unless its egregiously incorrect (granted i am dyslexic so i am biased). It is however a grey area I hope there is some clarification on in the future. I feel like they are being tested on movie trivia knowledge. You add precise spelling (specifically with proper names of actor/actesses, composers, directors) and it feels more like a forth grade English test.
@ajl97724 жыл бұрын
@@Rougestar98 The issue has never been about spelling, but about pronunciation. He not only wrote, but he said "Alba" The problem with saying it should only count against them when it's "egregiously incorrect" is that is subjective. Is it okay for someone to now write Brendan instead of Brandon? It okay to write Allis instead of Ellis? Coby instead of Cody? If it was a tough name to pronounce I could get behind the ruling, but it's a very easy 4 letter name and is written just like it sounds.
@Kratosx234 жыл бұрын
It's not a spelling issue. It's spelled how it's pronounced. EL-BA. He spelled it Alba, because that's what he believed it was, he believed it was pronounced with an A. He said Alba verbally. No less after THREE competitors AND the desk said ELBA to even clue him in to the correct pronunciation. He could've at least said Elba after hearing the other players say it right and people might very well have just thought that he had a brain fart when writing it down, but he didn't even do it then, he still mispronounced it. Idris Elba is one of the worlds most prominent A list actors. He does not have a hard name to spell. And even if we're lenient on spelling, spelling has to count for something. Are we gonna accept "Tom Crews" and "Terry Cruise" as answers? The spelling doesn't count rule should be reserved for extreme cases like Zach Galifianakis and Jason Mantzoukas, not for Idris Elba or spelling Brad Pitt with one t. At some point we've got to expect people to learn their shit.

I agree! The first round especially. I dont mind it for the Rookies, but it's creating so many tied first rounds. It makes the perfect round less special too.

This was great for an upcoming Bateman vs. Andreyko match.

Wow what a match and that last question was very topical

Who's the Boss is my favorite team, Bateman my favorite player, but i also LOVE Andreyko as a competitor. And personally, not a fan of Andreyko's take here. Typically I side with his views on the game, but this game is not purely a knowledge competition. It is a sport with many other factors. Who's the Boss won and I don't see how anyone can contest it. To be mad about the outcome is to give into emotions, rather than the logic of it all. And that pains me to say, 'cause I do respect Andreyko a LOT as a competitor. I wish he had a more *ahem* relaxed team member. Sneider is a beast, will not argue otherwise, it's evident, BUT Andreyko getting mad at Bateman's antics but not Sneiders is hypocritical. That's just my point of view though. All 4 played extremely well.

Seriously , Odd couple and Who's the Boss (along with founding fathers) are my favourite teams that the Anarchy tournament produced

Ben Bateman is determined to keep on pulling out surprise Spinner’s Choice options this year. Tyler Perry. Pixar. I don’t think movie release dates has been on either match he’s been in. A Star Wars question in round 3 after a whole second round was a cruel twist of fate after the spinner’s/opponents choice in round 2. Iron Man would go poorly for Odd Couple just as it did when Jeff player Above the Line. Reilly and Bateman have broader knowledge, Andreyko and Sneider have bigger gaps.

43:38 Bateman When you've just studied a category and it pops up for your 5 pointer to win the game

It's tough to go against Opponents/Spinners in a match, Who's The Boss needed to win after that and they did.

Thank god, my favorite player won today. I was getting nervous after that round 2.

Amazing match. Respect Sneider for saying he would challenge that round 1 question too, can't wait for someone to put Jessica Elba and then get it wrong, rules are never consistent which is annoying. Roxy now looks even worse for calling Finstock a bad manager, her only hope for points now is Damon.

I was really pulling for The Odd Couple, but congrats to Who's The Boss. Undeniably an amazing team. And I have to admit, I am interested in seeing the Finstock Civil War in the Teams Division. As for the Roxstars, they'll bounce back. I was at the Chicago live event, so I've felt the energy of their potential greatness. And this was a great performance, even in defeat.

if the spelling is incorrect but the pronunciation is, the point should be awarded only if they answer first. Being last Andreyko knew what the answer was

Great round 2 by Odd couple in a category they're not really familiar with
