The common belief that a stable job leads to financial success contrasts with the approach of billionaires, who focus on entrepreneurship, investing, and building passive income streams through long-term strategies and calculated risks methods not typically taught in traditional career paths. Most people are unaware of these alternative principles that can lead to greater wealth

One thing I agree with the 43 year old lady in black is that you have to believe in yourself. I had lousy GPA throughout various stages of schools (but I read a lot) but I had an absolute belief in myself, not because I was cocky but I realized early (before high school) that if I didn't believe in myself no one will believe in me (maybe other than my mom who loved me unconditionally), a poor immigrant kid without any money and connections. I have seen many super smart people who lacked this self-belief in themselves to take on risks. Note what I am saying: self-belief in yourself is not being cocky; you have to realize your strengths and go with them rather than dwell on your weaknesses. Business and personal relationships are different in that way: to succeed in business, you have to go with your strengths, but to have successful personal relationships, you have to improve your weaknesses.

My advice to everyone is this: if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances, be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldn't have to worry about savings as much as you do now. Thanks to my FA, my portfolio is doing really great and I'm proud of the decisions I made last year.

Very true. People often underestimate the role and importance of CFAs. Over 50 years of data reveal that those who work with CFAs typically earn way more than those who do it alone. I'm a 30 year old woman who is just realizing that I have that hustle/entrepreneur mentality but I keep having others talk down to me and shove me into the 9-5 rat race. I've been thinking WHY I keep failing everything I'm doing and it's because I spread myself far too thin, thinking I can run a million businesses while also studying to get a solid 9-5... when really, I don't want a 9-5, I want a business, and I want to tell everyone who didn't believe in me to F off. I LOVE that lady, especially since I am also a late bloomer... I care far too much what others think and I'm working to break that. Rule 8 indicates you don't need a high IQ to be a good investor, just 2 qualities, self discipline and a lot of patience. Investing is mostly about behavioral psychology. How can I generate more income to retire with at least $3m for long term care?

It's unfortunate most people don't have such information. I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $30k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Doesn't matter if the economy is misbehaving; great wealth managers will always make returns.

@@MsPieO A good business person knows what they should make this year unless something weird happens in the world (Covid is an example). A good business person knows their numbers every day, backwards and forwards. Especially if it is just 1 or 2 businesses. If a person owns a lot of businesses it can be tricky. But... a worker wouldn't understand that. An hourly person like yourself can't wrap your head around anything like business people talk about. Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences. It's important to remember that trading involves risks and it's normal to face looses sometimes. One piece of advice is to start small and gradually increase your investments as you gain more experience and confidence. It might also be helpful to seek guidance from experienced traders or do some research on different trading strategies
