@@TheScottishIsle Yes, in German the name Kirk means "dweller at the Church" ... not sure how the Scotts came to call their parish churches "the Kirk". BTW, your new channel is lovely and thank you for sharing your adventure. All the best !

@@TheScottishIslethe word Kirk is old horse, and we still use it in Scandinavia, in danish a church is en kirke. Scottish has lots of words from old Norse that are easily recognisable for Scandinavians.

It's fascinating, the origins of language. I believe also that when Scots from Aberdeen who spoke the Doric tongue, conversed with those speaking Germanic languages, that they were able to understand one another to a degree the languages were so similar.

It was so interesting about St Finnan's church and about Bonnie Prince Charlie, the parishioner's of years gone by attending mass. I am so pleased that at least there is a mass twice a month and that one can go visit the church. The beautiful stain glass windows and the church itself is beautiful. The scenery around the loch (?) with the rainbow stretching over the water in a beautiful arch, the sunlight can capture a picturesque painting, absolutely gorgeous. I love how your cat goes on walks with you. A another beautiful vlog and so calming and the music choices are so calming and do not jangle oneself and one really feels refreshed after watching your vlog's. Looks like Thuja plicata, western redcedar. No shortage of beautifull trees in your neck of the woods it seems, a joy to see. Should consider planting a couple of sequoia sempervirens, coast redwood.. They should do nicely in your climate (if winter cold is not to harsh) and make great specimen trees for posterity.
