Greetings from New Scotland, Nova Scotia! Our landscape looks exactly like yours! Ps/ Why do you not just pave with new pavers right over the old ones? Saves time, you got enough stone anyway and helps the foundation.

My daughter came home from school, and protested with a look of horror that she had to eat "Haggis, Neeps, and tatties for lunch because it was Rabbie Burns birthday. "It was yuk" she said. "I wouldn't care, but he's not even in my class"

Hiya 🌞, one of my favourite Burns was " ode to an crawlie"- all about an insect that made a tour of a ladies Sunday bonnet unbeknownst to her and how proud she was of what she assumed was the congregation's admiration of it!The sermon was against vanity! And it was in the tongue and l had to learn it one rainy Saturday afternoon for my Grandmere! ;" Ach! Whe're ye gang,ye fearsome crawlie? Sa brae n sae brash on the Mistress's bonnet!" The whole lilt and cadence made me learn galic from her and created an enthusiasm for poetry in general that's been a lifelong joy😊 .Funny what nudges us along certain ways in life. Anyway, do enjoy your programs, and reading the comments along the way! Best wishes aĺl,J.I.M.K Mrs. Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ 😊

Your positive drive to get on and get things done is really fantastic to watch. The weather is very changeable at present, but still great to observe. Thank you for sharing your day-to-day lives with us -it is a please to watch you really settled in on your Scottish Isle.

As An Skianach, I love your channel...and am interested to see how you do cope with a full Midgy season. 😮 There is the curse and the blessing. The best time of year often brings the worst of times in the western highlands. As for the fence (sorry, lol), I will refer you to my Nan (a Maclean) , who said, there is no fence that can keep a Deer out or a Border Collie in! 😉 ....so good luck with that ❤

And Scott great repairs on your scooter/towing cart. You did a good job on that.Let's not forget the sheep's housing doorway, good way to deflect the flies. Such excellent info on structures like that needing breathable paint. So necessary. Things can get unhealthy fast, not just unsightly. And, oh, people say a lot about the horrid weather in Scotland. But this Texan thinks it looks wonderful. I think the light and the changes in greenery are really doing the job of making everything more rich. It will be amazing to see across the seasons how much changes.

I admire your efforts to repair the fence. But is there any reason you didn't just staple the fence to the tree stump? Way easier, cheaper and 20 times as strong. Shauna is growing like a weed. What a cutie! The two adult sheep looked a bit dumbfounded at the fly screens lol. How nice that the boards to repair the wagon were exactly the right size - now there's a repair that was meant to be! Well done! And, Katie, well done on the mortaring! I've been sod busting in my garden this week, but I have to say, my body doesn't ache nearly as much when I watch you two work :) Have a lovely week!

I love the labor involved in maintaining a fence; I wish I was there to help you (heck, I want to live in a cave on the Isle, within shouting distance and available to help you when needed. Considering the history of the ancient techniques to enclose or protect a space, have you considered works such as hedgerows and split timber rails? There is probably enough dead wood and stone to build some wonderful fences on the Isle, which are free to build and appropriate to the ancient site. Just a thought, your life there is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing it.

You're probably trying to drive that fence post into a tree root from that whopping huge tree next to you. Just a guess. I like your rain storms. We get what I call thunder boomers. Three or four huge thunder rumbles, a couple of lightning flashes and 10 minutes of hard rain. Then it's all over. I'd love one of those rain showers that are kind of a light rain or almost a mist. Our rain flattens everything. It recovers eventually, but it's harsh.
