Everyone at in-law's place was astonished at the difficulty and devotion we have for Chaath Pooja. They were so proud of me. Pure rockstars. Chaath Pooja is a time of togetherness, love and thekua with the family. The best part is the Pooja being so scientific. We worship Suryadev and his sister Chaathi maiya. The divine being you are praying to, is in front of you. It doesn't get any better than this. Suryadev and Chaathi maiya are the source of all there is in our world. Photosynthesis is at the base of the food chain. Water cycle. Rock cycle. Every phenomena that is now given a western name - roots from Suryadev and Chaathi maiya. The Pooja is a way to thank them for everything. Expressing gratitude is at the core of our Sanatani values. It is said that the rays during the sunset and sunrise of Chaath Pooja cure people of deadly diseases. After I did this pooja for the first time, I feel like a changed person. This comes from someone who called herself an atheist at one point, who didn't even step into a temple for quite some years. See it for yourself. Do witness the Pooja once in its original form, probably by the bank of Ganga maiya or Son Nadi in Bihar. It is gorgeous. ♥️

I am Maharashtrian, we had a friend Deven who used to give us thekua . His father retired from here ( Chandrapur Maharashtra) and settled in UP near Prayagraj. Didn't knew so much needs to do for a Chhat Puja. During corona period we lost him , I was literally in tears knowing that he isn't with them to celebrate from last two years. During whole video I was in tears. Had to wash my face so that mom couldn't get it ( mom's are little.. you know that ) Hope we friends could make a plan and be in next chat Puja if this is allowed. Abhinav Badri , Lalten , Chacha Chachi all those who are part of this should know you brought smiles as well as tears !! Kudos to the team TSP to bring such a tradition to the light of others.

Chath means maa, matti, gao,..own village and it's produc..this festival is living example of no adultaration...this festival us passed from generation to generation, its like a heritage and responsiblity the whole community comes to make this happen from basket ,lamps,wheat,ghee, vegetables... everything is local..,and we can use any local fruit vegge until its pure ..and pureity im this festival is at extreme lvl .the one who observe fast not only fast for 2 days but also sleeps on ground ..no one can cough cold around her..her room must be pure...and there is no image of chathi maiya , the vrati (pabnarin) herself is chathi maai..she/he is the one observing..there is no mantra or purohit for this its purely based on nature ,and unadulterated rituals from generation...there is no limit of who can do this married, windowed, unmarried,men, women......in hindu literature surya narayan is one of 5 roops of god.in ancient times surya aradhna was prominent in most parts of conutry but i guess only biharis still iwing thaf old tradition, no doubt why there are so many old surya temple bihar ......moreover its extremely close to heart .like its a identity without which we can't live..each class/caste of society has a role to fullfill in..bihar is a castist but during chath the whole wall shades ..the vrati of any caste is equivalent to god even pandits bow down to feets of pabnaytin,and if any unknown vrati gives prasad to you , you have to bow fown to her feet and without asking her class ..

Although I'm from Bihar, but my mom doesn't do chhath due to some reasons, but we used to go to our neighbours houses and participate actively in all the rituals be it's preparing thekuas to going on ghat, that feeling was amazing, but I'm so unlucky that now I live at such a place that nobody celebrates this grand festival and couldn't even eat Chhath's mahaprasad last year😢.... I am a Bengali, born and brought up in a small town of Jharkhand which shares its border with Odisha at 20km distance from the main town place. Growing up in a mix community has incorporated immense love for chhath. We used to wait for this time of the year. We used to go to ghaat, had lots of fun, ate Thekua and Ofcourse the Pooja rituals. Last I attended this chhath rituals on 2012. Post 10 yrs of not celebrating Chhath rituals physically, I realised, we were not only having fun when we were kids but were making memories too. While watching this video I just couldn’t control myself and ended up in sobbing. May Chhathi Maiya give her blessings to all and make their ways towards happiness and health ❤
