# For Davinci Resolve User - Personally, i keep using Resolve default key map and mapping usually shortcuts with key isn't mapped - For the long term when i know what i doing (I'm just learning video editing in 2 months So i’m noob) - When i know what i doing i will prefer to single key shortcut for often shortcut i use - And i use the 75% keyboard, tldr: no Numpad 1. Ripple - Start/End to play head - Start/End “Ctrl + Shift + [“ / “Ctrl + Shift + ]” - i prefer to F1, F2 2. Split clip: - “Ctrl + \” - i prefer to F3 3. Ripple delete: - “Del” or “Shift + backspace” - i prefer to Del key cuz i use touchcursor to map my keyboard to “hold space + d” become “Del” 4. Delete Gaps: personally i don’t use it frequently so i just use mouse go to the edit menu choose Delete Gaps 5. Edit timeline - clip color: - Resolve don’t map the key by default you can press “Ctrl + alt + k” go to the keyboard customization search clip color - Personally i use color in different track V1…, A1… and the clip with match the track color i set before, and the marker i don’t use it often with different color so i don’t set it 6. Swap clips towards left/right: “Ctrl + Shift + ,” “Ctrl + Shift + .” 7. Rename clip: Resolve don’t have shortcut for that, you need to go to the inspector - File and you will see the metadata 8. Linked selection: “Ctrl + Shift + l” 9. Media Pool - Duplicate: - Resolve don’t set by default - i don’t set the shortcut i just use mouse, you also can use the timeline backup feature, i use the software versioning in the programming world for naming my timeline like v1 show for client, v1.0.1 fix color brand,... 10. Render a section of a timeline: Resolve have the similar (i think) render cache, Resolve don’t map the shortcut by default you can search the term “render cache” in keyboard customization, i don’t use the shortcut for that btw. 11. Mark in/out: “i” / “o” 12. Snapping: “n” (i mention the linked selection before, i kind of confuse when i watch the video :D idk, i maybe just unlinked for 1 clip? You can hold “Alt” and mouse for selection) 13. Mismatched resolution: this is the timeline setting, apply for all clip i guess, i always use the “scale entire image to fit” i work most of the time for me 14. Show guide: - Resolve don’t have that feature i guess, i kind of similar to safe area guides in cut page, and Resolve FX generate - Grid - You can customize the Grid line and drop it in to the power bins for reuse purpose.
