You're right Anna's TED talk is awesome! I was shocked when she said that earth structures aren't allowed to be built anymore, not because they lack quality, but because no one knows how to architect with earth... even though it's the traditional building method. Goes to show how industrialised the euro-centric practise is.

When I was a child I wanted to be an architect. While ultimately my career path led me into sustainability and entrepreneurship, when I watch videos like yours I realize inside my soul is that of an architect! Thank you for such a great video, I subscribed. Amazing women featured and I like the spotlight that is shone on passive cooling, I feel that is the most important aspect of architecture given the current environmental crisis.

I think the point about how an architect addresses the reality of the situation is key (I think in Mariam Kamara section). I observe a lot of architects having their heads in the clouds, but the value are in those who have their feet on the ground along side the community and their local resources. Giving the locals a sense of ownership/stewardship goes beyond anything I'd imagine architect schools teaching.

Dear Sara Please do check out yasmin laari’s work on developing design for net zero buildings of lime and bamboo for flood and earthquake victims by training them to make the building themselves!!

5:38 начиная с первой мировой войны архитектура просто выполняет заказ большой бизнес, и придумывает оправдания для поведения " социальной востребованости" . в тоже время в США существует дома из местных материалов и технологиями ... Просто модам Архитектор не ощаботилась посмотреть чуть в сторону от навязанной программы, на это требуется время ( много) и желание. ...2018 7 мар.
