The '6k cap' on Twitch hasn't existed for many years now. The site only 'recommends' that limit, but you can go higher with no issue. I generally go around 8k without issue; Twitch only cuts you off when you go about 10k.
@TheFranswahStudio2 жыл бұрын
This is still not enough for quality 1080p and the issue comes in when you don’t have transcoding - higher bitrate is bad without transcoding if you want your stream to be accessible
@hextree2 жыл бұрын
I agree, it's not enough for stuff like action FPS's, but I just wanted to correct what you mentioned about a hard cap in the video. Personally, I just scale down to 1664x936 in OBS, it looks good at that scale. As for transcoding, I almost always have transcoding options appear when I stream at high bitrates, both as Affiliate, and before I reached Affiliate. I dunno, maybe I was lucky in avoiding peak times. But one can always just try the stream for 5 min, and if transcoding doesn't appear for some reason, then switch to lower bitrate.
@TheFranswahStudio2 жыл бұрын
@@hextree affiliation isn’t the issue - the resources are only permanently available to partners - then it becomes available to non-partners as it is available. Until Twitch announces transcoding for everyone - it’s highly suggested you don’t streamer at high bitrate a.
@TheFranswahStudio2 жыл бұрын
@@hextree as far as the cap goes - technically there is a cap in what they accept in the ingest servers - you can send them 8-10k bitrate but what will be used as stable bitrate in ingest is what they state the limit is - so realistically the additional bitrate is debatable
@hextree2 жыл бұрын
@@TheFranswahStudio as I say, across the last couple of years, I have very rarely ever encountered transcoding not being available on my streams. It might be that my streaming times happen to not be at peak traffic. So my recommendation to streamers wouldn't be to 'only stream at lower bitrates', but rather to try at higher bitrates as desired, and only drop to lower ones if transcoding noticeably isn't available. Many non-partners streamers such as myself do manage to get the transcoding consistently.

If you are getting transcoding you shouldnt have to worry about the resolution you stream at.. the transcoding is there so viewers can select a resolution that works better for them.. it should be set to auto by default to it will load at the lowerst resolution based on the download the viewer has available at the time. @TheFranswahStudio2 жыл бұрын
@@OfficialMyMindset I am explaining it fairly clearly.. let me try a different explanation. Typical TVs/displays are shown in partial therefore producing washed results when output in full. Most browsers and apps won’t playback a full 444 color range correctly and end up washed or overly dark. Therefore it will always be set to Partial. If you DO NOT set the sources to the correct color range they will become either washed or overly dark - if you follow the guidelines mentioned you will get a correct color image, as explained in the video. The problem started when, many new streamers are "GUIDED" to use somebody else settings, this is WRONG. NOT all computers have the same performance and bottlenecking. This is due to different brands and model of internal devices on a PC. The right settings are those when you feel confident with, according to your PC specifications. The video quality "trick" or "Magic" is NOT on your hardware or software or the way new streamers set their PC and software settings "CLONED" as the "KZbinR" given settings. The problem is, these KZbinRS, just mention the "BASIC", maybe they "STILL DON'T KNOW" what is the real deal here. The real "DEAL", "TRICK", "MAGIC" of the "BEAUTIFUL LIVE STREAMING" we are looking for, it is NOT on damn RTMP streaming key we use. DON'T USE THAT %^$%^$*&%, change it to HLS Streaming Key, and set the max resolution to 4K, that is not on your streaming software, it is located on your KZbin Live Stream Key. Delete all those crappy KEYs and make a new one. It took me 7 years to find that thing out, watching thousands "BEST SETTINGS FOR STRAMING IN YEAR XXXX", those videos won`t help you, new streamers.
