I could never understand the blood pressure thing… there’s more idiots out there in smaller vehicles with high blood pressure who almost always contribute to a vehicle accident. Not always on the truck driver but there’s some it happens

I have a Class B that is set to expire in November. I've had 2 heart attacks (2017 and 2018 due to artery dissections). I have high blood pressure and FMD (Fibromuscular Dysplasia in my carotid arteries). I also have Osteoarthritis and I've had several surgeries because of it and have another coming in November. I am on medicine for my heart and high blood and on pain meds. Can I renew my CDL? I was a bus driver but haven't been at work since my first heart attack. Would it be a safe bet to just let the CDL expire and retire?

Those medical conditions would make passing the DOT physical more difficult but not impossible. It would be completely up to the medical examiner on if he/she felt it was safe for you to drive. Good luck!

Had a question on Dot physical if I will be able to pass it. My diagnosis was perimesecephalic subarachnoid hemorrhage (CMS/HCC) cerebral vasospasm occurred in feb 2022 was in the icu for 7 days( no surgery) Current taking nifedipine 30mg and Amitriptyline. My blood pressure currently is normal and I have no neurological deficits and no restrictions from a neurological standpoint. Only restriction was no driving for 6 months which will end Aug 17th 2022.I’m on currently on disability now. My dot will expire in couple of weeks. Other than that I have no other health issues. Will I be denied my dot physical Medical card. I’m extremely nervous and as for all commercial driver this is our livelihood.

Doctor where you located I can pass all those test I have a CDL class A but only in Florida I have a lazy eye I need to drive all over USA I’m not making money at here what I need to do I need your help any surgery or meds do they make some very strong glasses just enough for me to see those letters I have clean driving record I can see with both of my eyes open better then a 20 year old healthy I fly or drive where ever you at thank you doctor I hope to hear from you

My certificate expires in a month but if I go in tomorrow and can't pass the vision part of the physical is my certificate still valid for that month while I go to my optometrist to get it taken care of?

if you can not pass the vision component then you would be disqualified from the date of your exam.

The testing methods could be different so a pre-test will not guarantee you can pas the DOT test

if you can't pass the drug test you can't qualify for a CDL. If your employer doesn't require a CDl or their own drug testing I don't know how they would find out

Can you do a video on prescriptions for chronic pain and other prescriptions for ADD etc... Also, do non CDL hot shot drivers have a different set of requirements than those with CDL A license?

Non CDL example: 1 Ton (Ford F350) and a 30-40ft flat bed trailer.

If you are in a one ton you can easily be over 26000 pounds and require a class A license. Depends on gvwr of trailer and truck added together if it's over 26000 you need a cdl.
