Prep wear or "old money aesthetic" is already here and only going to get more popular. I think it's riding the wave of the gilded age of fashion we see celebs participating in. I cant even count the amount of "how to get old aesthetic on the cheap" tutorials I've seen on tiktok.

I’m 5’0 tall and getting rid of chunky/platform heels pretty much just ruins my life. At this point, it’s basically utilitarian so Imma keep rocking that t’ill I die 💀🪦😛loving the smooth jazz Christian.

I’m an older millennial, so my fashionista journey began in the 90s. And I’ve always recognized what I call the 20-year re/cycle (not recycle) of trends. The obvious one is the huge 90s resurgence in the past decade. I’ve kept a lot of my 90s style but constantly modernize them through the years. From baggy to more fitting; nowadays we’re back to oversized which took me awhile to get used to because I had been so into slimmer, closer fits for so long! I stopped following fashion trends around 2010s because I discovered the things for myself to fit my own unique expression. Not that I DON’T follow trends, I simply pick and pull from some trends…including ones that might be considered “played out”. It’s funny because some of these new emerging trends I have been doing for years, not because I’m tryina be different, but because I know what works with my body type best. Whether it’s a crop shirt, shorts exactly right at or below the knee, or slim soles shoes…it’s all because these are things that fit my body type the way I like. I think I said all this just to say, folks…fucca trend! Wear what you wanna wear cuz it pleases you and not please an entire community of sheep trend followers. You’re better than that! Style away!

this is so on point I defiantly see a more preppy look in people in my city and as it comes into winter in my country I'm seeing more suits and woolen shirts come into play

I like your point on post workwear. I've noticed as well that the work jackets and double knees has started to fall to the way side, but prep/ivy style is really bubbling. Maybe your tailoring prediction wasn't exactly right but having a dressier look has definitely been more desirable recently

i like the way you film your vids and the way talk, it feels very smooth and definitely more like a conversation, maybe its because you arent trying to shove your predictions down our throats like facts, but you’re just like, hey this might happen maybe 🤷 like it feels like you’re actually making predictions

@BraveNewWear So many good predictions in this video. You're one of my favorite channels on KZbin. My prediction: I think another possible spin-off of the post-work-wear wave might be the general pop starting to wear clothes that look like what fffpostal service and Post Archive Faction make + people looking to find vintage Japanese brands that were making utility-gorpy-gear.

[Edit] General pop was not the right word to use. I wish there was a word for jawns who live in trendy territories / are "online". (Echo Park, Ridgewood, etc.)

I've seen a lot of people say they think tailoring will come back into fashion but I've yet to see it, I'm excited for when it does happen even if it takes a couple of years

Sleeveless t shirts, but maybe that goes with your fen chic prediction in menswear, also I don’t think you’ve mentioned skirts that’s probably a 2-5year thing though definitely I can see menswear taking more from womenswear that has been done before

I honestly believe which aesthetic/silhouette/item that trending is manufactured by the brands' marketing with media's coverage and celebrity/influencer seeding. There is no real populist trend that organically coming from the wearer no more.

I like kitted tops Long shorts looks like shit I hope chunky sneakers don’t fall off as a wide footed man big sneakers are always nice since if it’s not a big shoe my foot meat be poking out since it’s too narrow. new balance has been my savior but I could see slimer shoe silhouettes coming back esp boots I think preppy aesthetics are nice but I also think ppl value being comfortable more so it probably won’t be too preppy and smart
@BraveNewWear Жыл бұрын
well like i said, keep following your vibe especially if its a matter of footwear comfort. personally, i've broken my foot twice so I'm kind of a stickler that my shoes have to fit right and feel comfortable.

The low soles and wide pants combo is such a weird trend to me. The proportions don't make any sense and it just looks bad and sloppy IMO. Also as a guy who's on the shorter side with thicc legs the chunky soles work a lot better with my body than low soles
