Thank you for this. My fear is more about my inability to do well. I have anxiety since I was a little kid. Because I got yelled at by almost every teacher in elementary, middle, and high school. Now I fear criticism under my boss at work and I am very skeptical when I receive praise because I do not know if he is bsing me. I took a lot sick days from work because the stress got so bad, and now I fear they not only think I am incompetent at work but also that I am unreliable and inconsistent since I didn't show up for work much this past month. There are times when they praised me for doing a very good job, but during those days I was very disciplined in the sense that I had good sleep good diet and came to work at my best level. Sadly, I do not like my job though because it is stressful so eventually I keep falling into bad habits of going to bed late, not getting good sleep, not having proper diet or exercise and I go back to doing a sub optimal job. But my biggest fear is being at my best self but still not performing as well as what is expected causing me to fear the scoldings and negative reactions I'd get from my boss and coworkers alike. I am writing this more for my self lol, but yea. I always thought I was stupid, but as I grew up I came to realize my father was never really a good role model and he pretended to be a 'nice' person but in the end he always tried to put me down with his words saying that I was good for nothing or all the other kids are doing better than me. So when I struggled in school or sports at an early age I gave up trying so much after a point and just drifted my attention towards instant pleasure . For most of high school, college, and my early years of employment I thought I was just a stupid guy and nothing I ever did mattered. I did this for all of high school, college, and I'm still doing it now but gradually making more efforts to change this as I am 25 now and my brain/mind have matured compared to that of an adolescence. I realize now that while I may not be very smart, I am not very dumb either. Rather I am just somewhere in between. I think at a deeper level I knew that when I was younger that it wasn't solely due to me being less intelligent than the 'smart' kids at school but rather I had a negative mindset and just gave up on getting good grades in some classes because I let the dopamine pleasure rewarding activities distract me from the stresses and pains of real life. These days I am mature and have a better understanding of the realities such that I need money to live and I have to overcome my fears and short term humiliations from society if I want to make enough money to have a life where I am not struggling to get food, water, or a place to live in the long term. My father is a narcissistic a-hole which made me feel like a worthless person most of my life. But I realize I can't blame my whole life on my perceived sense of weaker genetics due to having to put more effort than the really 'smart' kids to get good grades at school (due to sheer luck some people are very smart and there is nothing I can do about that, other than keep working hard and hope I get lucky) and I can't keep blaming my father for my mental health problems because like you said "Nobody/No one cares". My father doesn't really care even if he feels bad for the way he was (he feels guilt rather than genuine sadness for the way he treated me), my mother doesn't really care despite the fact that she acted as a passive enabler of his behavior, the kids who teased me for having low confidence and difficulties during physical education class or math class didn't care. My boss doesn't care if I feel bad from his scoldings (he may only really feel bad if it makes him feel like a bad person for scolding me), the only real thing he cares about is am i getting the work done right and on time. I too realize I must decide to not care about "my emotions" as they can be fleeting and ever changing. I must only care about trying to do my best everyday or by getting feedback and from self reflection to be MY best at work, future post graduate studies, parties, or other social environments. Even as I write this I struggle with my anxiety, but at least in this moment I know that I will not give up. Thankyou for this.

"Nobody cares what you are doing. Action conquers fear." Absolutely true. Thanks so much for videos like this. I started my own channel in 2017, but fear of failure prevented me from uploading any videos until a few weeks ago. Action is the solution.

Another 6 words: “Action is the antidote to despair.” (Joan Baez) ❤️ Action means practicing, learning, understanding...it means experience which leads to normalization which leads to confidence. (Yes, fear DOES go away. We can all find something in our life that once terrified us but not longer has any affect.)

I've never feared failure until i got pushed here a couple years ago. It wasn't those 6 words...but actually the 3 words at the end of this video that sucker punched me. When you stated all those things that don't conquer fear, and then followed that up with "action conquers fear," it put on display all the things that people use unsuccessfully...and then the one thing they avoid the most (the one that actually works). I'm going to keep this idea in mind and let it stir around for a while. Thanks.

Good piece of work- Yes once we get our enormous egos out of the way life is a lot more vital- so the next time you agonise over what someone might think of what you do or say just remember no-one really knows you and your thoughts. The world won’t doesn’t notice or care what you are doing!

"Fear of failure," is what a friend once said to me. I said: "No, I am afraid of success. This is the USA. I am afraid that someone will sue me for the money I make. I am afraid someone will accuse me of something sexual and I will be tried in the American 'news' media. We have all heard the quote: "You are a nobody in America until you have been sued." Being a poor unknown nobody is safer (and happier) than becoming successful and famous, and then sued into debt and surviving in jail."

The world is always going to be made up of people who succed and people who fail, there's nothing as sad as trying to succed when you belong to those who fail, you know it isn't so bad down here in the food chain ,once you get used to it , you won't feel sad or happy or anything actually a sort of freedom some may say.
