Also the makers in Bollywood need to understand the importance of music in a movie which actually was one of the biggest reasons for the audience to connect with the likes of RRR, KGF franchise and Pushpa. Background score, lyrics, beats, melody in all the above mentioned movies was bang on, even for the Hindi albums of these movies. What makers in my view chose and what also worked was to keep the lyrics for the Hindi version connected to the movie and the setup rather than just translating into something random and unappealing version. Also we enjoy the music from around the world and most of the times we do not even understand the lyrics but still we connect with it(biggest example is Spanish music) For these movies to work the music part has be to good, you can not go around making shitty music and expect audience to connect with it, we have time and again seen examples where movies worked because the music was amazing and the songs were chartbusters. And it becomes even more important when making movies of such grand scale. Makers need to look for music creators who can do justice to the storyline and the scale of the movie. Bollywood needs to also embrace the music directors from different parts of the country who are making revolutionary music specially in the south where they hold on to their individuality and time again deliver with masterpieces which are being copied in Bollywood with utmost deceptiveness. At last, keep up the good work Jammy : )

If Vimal Paan Masala can afford Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn, then bollywood certainly can afford to build a universe with 3 superstars interacting in a spy genre. Hopefully the meat of the story they can lay out is good enough for each of them to chew upon and get their nods.

The stardom days are over. You can't rely on superstars to come in and make the movie a hit anymore, it'll cross the 100crore mark for sure but it will not be profitable due to already high budget. The storyline and acting skills is what the movie depends on.

@@Aiibh I was thinking the same until I saw Salman's box office collection for his last few films. He gets 16-21 crores on opening days still. Salman's fan base is something. He just needs to find a decent story and he could still get huge numbers for himself. Producers and distributors believe in him more than the other stars because he assures them of their return. Akshay has been smart with choosing scripts for 5-6 years now. Even when he knows the movie may not work at cinema he releases it on streaming platforms to get his money. Ajay Devgn is following the same routine. He gets money from other producers, makes movies he wants to make and does his cinema easily at box office. The only one lagging behind is Shah Rukh because of his sabbatical from the movies (even though he produced movies/series for other actors like Sanjay Mishra, Emraan Hashmi, Sanya Malhotra etc.) and his past flops. Amir Khan works and will work. People may say they are fans of so and so star, but every fan of the other star watches Amir's movie because it's that good. His producers always make their money even on films which haven't performed on box office. And Amir is great at advertising his product. Hope his new movie does well.

Main issue with bollywood is the younger generations are unable to fill the space of khan trio when they are struggling.If u look at tamil industry when rajini and kamal started struggling vijay and ajith filled there space, in telugu industry Prabhas AA ramcharan etc filled there predecessors like chiranjeevi, nagurjuna etc... Bollywood younger generation actors are unable to connect thier movies with masses mostly focusing their movies to multiplex and urban audience...

Brahmastra seems to have finally cracked the code that we can make epic films by referring to our own ancient scriptures, texts and holy books which are a literal goldmine and treasure trove. My fear with Brahmastra till now is Alia Bhatt and if she has any meaningful role in the movie other than being the love interest. I have legit seen so many movies turn bad because directors wanted to add unnecessary romantic angle. And with marriage between those two happened, I think they will add a significant portion of romance between these two as a fan service. Hope they don't do it.

Bollywood downfall began when they started westernising their stories and started to cater to these so called "woke" people. While South movies have kept their originality going ( mind you I hate the regressive aspects they still show). But then again I do not think that if KGF or Pushpa or RRR were to be an original Hindi movies....they would have not had the same impact. Southern states fans are loyal and agressive af.... nothing compared to Salman or SRK have let alone Ranbir or Ranveer.

I am quite excited for Brahmastra for the sheer vision of Ayan Mukerji and also the cast involved. I really hope it is well made and we get to see the whole trilogy. I was not impressed by the Prithviraj teaser. I wonder why they chose Akshay Kumar of all people to play the role. Akshay Kumar for all the box office numbers takes very minimal efforts in his movies when it comes to getting into the character, he has started focusing on quantity over quality. Also his pairing with Maanushi just looks odd with a massive 30yrs age gap. Vikram Vedha could be a game changing project. I am happy that the same creators are working on the Hindi version. Also the synergy between Hrithik and Saif is worth waiting for. Adipurush could be a make or break film for Om Raut. I am excited to see Prabhas as Sri Ram but Om Raut's previous venture Tanhaji didn't work for me so I hope he does a better job this time. As for Tiger and Pathaan. I have given up on all Salman Khan movies irrespective of the box office numbers they generate and Shahrukh really needs a great script in Pathaan

Tanhaji had worked for me. I respect your opinion but I'll put some things I felt. It's a part of healthy opinion sharing. It had top notch Music which got me hooked to it. While the VFX was visible at some places but overall it was acceptable considering its budget. Action was slick and pace was also good. Short and crisp.

An honest thought - It might be just me but I feel that Bollywood music and songs have decreased in quality and creativity after 2016(Note: not all songs created after 2016 were bad but most of them were). Bollywood has had an impact in the Asian continent with movies like 3 idiots and Dangal. No south movies has ever had that impact. There's a saying that the best thing about bad times is that they are bound to end. As a boy who has grown up on hindi cinema, I will never loose faith in the Hindi industry.

I'm personally not the biggest fan of larger than life concept. I know people love it and it is supposed to work with the mass but I feel what Bollywood really need is unique storyline that we all can resonate with for years to come. Even as I say this I know only larger than life movies can finally bring audience to theatre after a 2 year dry spell. Like recently in a conversation with my cousins they said that they only wait for Tamil/,Telugu movies now as they are worth watching. I disagreed but I know the mass prefer that but on the other hand we all loved yjhd, jab we met, Dil chahta hai, zindagi ha milegi dubara, taare Zameen par, etc. They were simple story not about a hero but just love, friendship and hope and I guess I really want that back and not another remake.

State cinema is pretty good ngl but language barrier is real big issue. I have enjoyed alot of movies not shooted in languages I know but I still don't watch alot because I just don't gel with subtitles. Tamil/Telugu broke the barrier by dubbing their movie which reached masses through repeated telecast on star gold and Sony Max (who hasn't watched Shivaji the boss like 10 Times) and some what same happened with Korean shows, they dubbed them and k-pop was a hype and boom everyone watches Kdrama now.

Lol cause that’s not a fair comparison. Tamil movies have produced constant non stop great content quality films. Tamil films also do not do promotions the way Telugu industry does or the way KGF was promoted. Also in all honestly, KGF 2, pushpa, and even RRR were not all that great but get hyped up and promoted everywhere so what do u expect. I’ve enjoyed Kaithi, Vikram Vedha, Raatchasan, Asuran, Vada Chennai and so many more tamil films in addition to a lot of smaller budget films. Just because everyone is hopping onto this KGF, Pushpa, RRR bandwagon…does not mean these movies are all that great…y’all hype too much. You can find better gems in Malayalam industry lol. Everything was planned. But then the critical back surgery of Srk happened and 2002-03 was terrible pain for him. And hence, Hirani Sir had to opt for others. But later everyone knows that it was the fate and it happened for good for both.... Sanju Baba was perfect for the role and on the other hand, Srk ended up giving the classic Veer Zaara and the funky dory Main Hoon Na and the cult Swades. So, everything happens for good. The massive inroads that South industries like Telugu and Kannada have made into the Hindi belt with RRR and KGF2 has certainly rattled Hindi cinema since they see their monopoly in this demographic in danger. So yes, a lot is dependent on how big-budgeted ventures like Shamshera, Prithviraj, Brahmastra, etc fare at the box office. And whether they are able to rival the growing clout of South industries.

hindi film industry is being used to promote punjabi, marathi, rajput, jat history and combining it with magadha region (UP MP Bihar) art music dance and culture rather than 90 percent of the time promoting Magadha region's current and ancient history culture and stories, they will never make movies on Magadha Kingdom, Nanda, Mauryan, Gupta empire etc

I remember the time when I was 9 years old watching ra one for the first time in my father's laptop and really enjoyed it I watched the movie repeatedly and it's bgm , music , action sequences used to engage me everytime hailing from a Telugu family I was never really interested hindi cinema unless it had a mamoth success but somehow I really got addicted to movie after growing I realised it is a disaster at box office inspite of it's technical merits the complex storyline and cringe comedy made it a massive failure for me the movie is still above avg and it shouldn't have received that much negativity right now same thing goes for brahmastra the movie has to prove itself in every single aspect for it to be a success on the flip side I have positive vibes for the film as SS Rajamouli is supporting the movie in south earlier he also encouraged movies like KGF and pushpa P.S : Forgive me for my grammatical errors and lengthy narration hope brahmastra becomes a huge success ❤️ from south

Actually the thing is that south is going on formula that bollywood used during 70s to 90s of larger than life cinema . Same is doing south the difference is only in technology used whereas bollywood's all talented actors are focusing on acting like outsiders who have the potential, they really become better in acting that no telgu actor has like actor like Manoj Bajpai sir in family man, Aligarh, Bhosle etc or Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Sacred games, Raat akeli hai, serious men , Rajkumar Rao in Shahid, Trapped, Newton, Omerta, Aligarh. , Ayushmann Khurrana in Article 15, Andhadhun, And mirzapur, pataallok, Panchayat, Kota Factory, scam 1992 and they didn't have much money to take risk so they are releasing it on ott because there they are reaching to the audience whereas in big stars only actors like Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgan is trying to do good others are just doing shits in screen. But in reality, these are the movies (Jayeshbhai Jordaar) that help in shaping the proper structure and functioning of the society. These movies income is not important but the delivery of messages applicable in real life is important. Am not saying that action and epic movies are not needed, they are too an important genre and many of those are in making by Yrf itself.... And being an action film lover, I am super pumped up for Pathaan, Fighter.... Extremely excited. The record breaking success of RRR and KGF was mostly due to audience's emotional connect with Rajamouli and Yash based on their previous works( Bahubali 1,2 and KGF 1). Otherwise the movies didn't had any element to become this much successful. Bahubali was far better than RRR. But the truth is South Indian films are overtaking Bollywood. So if Bollywood doesn't start taking risks and do something spectacular, audience will lose faith in them.

Hindi's first 100 crore film is a copy of south movie gajini Salman khan's first blockbuster & career saver is a south Telugu movie pokiri remade as wanted. Whole Salman career is built on numerous Telugu remakes. Bahubali 1 is not a franchise still it touched pk collections. Pushpa isn't a franchise still collected 100 crore without promotion. I watched Bollywood yesterday, what a great movie, worth my money 🔥🔥, I fully recommend this movie, in the movie we see a subtle potrayal of topics like nepotism, politics and how it gives a platform to hard working starkids to express their talent. The movie also sheds light on the culture of remakes and shows how producers are trying to bring the southern stories to mainstream Hindi audience, which is way better than writing original stories. A great visual experience with stories about suicides and celebrity marriages. A must watch !!

The problem with people is that they want results in the first attempt. Have seen many drag Brahmastra already by assuming various things about it even before its trailer release. A young creator like Ayan trying to bring something original and we should be happy that he's taking that plunge. He could go for a rom com like his previous and make good money. But he is trying. My fear is people are expecting too much and almost a perfect once in a generation movie. KGF & RRR isn't flawless but the Fandom of South (plus bw haters) hype has made it sail over any level of critic. Same won't happen here because many wannabe technical experts and screenplay writers will be hunting to make it a RA.One the moment there's a slightest flaw. Nothing changes for people here. Make mindless commercial movies that mint money and they'll ask for stories that can be relatable and original but when you make one, they want perfection and if they fail a bit, will tell you to look at KGFs and Pushpas for cinema inspiration.
