I was in the hospital for over a week and it's been a week since I've been home and our cats are still coming in to check on me and cuddle. The older one came in very early this morning and woke me up for pets and then left when she saw I was fine. They're good for my recovery.

I had to go into the hospital for about a week and a half, had my neighbor feeding my cat, but I think she thought I died, she just layed in her litter box and peed on herself the whole time, and she cried, then stayed near me all the time when I came home. It was very sad she was covered with piss and litter, so I gave her a bath and lots of love ( I've had her since she was a baby she's about 10 now)

wife was in critical ward for a month. baxter would yowl and drag her robe belt around the house, so sad. in rehab, i asked the staff if i could bring him in to see her, explaining his grief. YES. he saw she was OK and everything was alright. cool cat. he's out sleeping next to her on the couch (1:30 a.m.) now, happily ever after.

i came back after 2 tours in Viet Nam in the navy. my dad picked me up from the airport and when we got home to the farm, i swear my collie screamed, then jumped on me bouncing around forever. she hadn't seen me for 3 years (remember, each human year is 8-10 dog years) and i just laid on the ground and let her be happy. yes, they remember. ruined my dress whites--i didn't care. goldie was happy.

We have a resident Russian Duck named bertie where I go fishing and every time he sees me he comes running up to me for his can of sweetcorn then he sits with me while I fish and he keeps biting my bag for more food.
