I didn't grow up with any pets, but ever since I got married, we've had dogs and cats. I don't see them as simply pets. I see them as family members. They represent the characters that we wish all humans had. Of all the cases, the one that moved me the most is the reunion between the woman and the chimpanzees that she rescued. We have done so much wrong to our closest evolutionary cousins, putting them behind bars or doing horrible experiments on them for our benefit. And yet so many still show us better grace and forgiveness than we humans would in their place.

I used to visit mom in the nursing home. After a visit I would go back to the truck and bring in my dog. Patients in the common room who were zombies before and ignored me saw my dog and came to life with such happiness. They smiled and loved on each other. It was an amazing thing to see. Many years ago I had to change my profession, I left my cat "tom" with a neighbor. I was gone for several months and returned, I saw Tom in my neighbors yard and he was staring at me. I love watching this channel, when I was growing up I use to incubate and hatch Muscovy ducks in Central Florida. And they used to follow me around the neighborhood in single file when I walked them every morning. Prior to that my parents took us on vacation to upstate New York where we had moved from. My brother and I adopted a little muskrat that was abandoned. I've also had a pet baby possum. I had a lovebird at one point that I used to hang her cage out on the open deck when I went to work and when I came home she had untied the bread tie to get out and then I would whistle and she would come flying from the pasture across the road and land on my shoulder. My red nose pit mix also rescued a little baby squirrel and brought it to me. The squirrel only lived about five days because the wind had blown the nest out of the tree but it used to climb up my shirt and snuggle in my neck. Friend of mine wanted to hold it and the squirrel nailed him on the finger. When my girlfriend was alive she used to tell people that I was the dog and animal whisperer.

Tears, Yep me too ... Animals, humans .... So much Love. The interconnectedness of all life. Love the people who Love!; A most surprising moment was that little fish who befriended the diver! ; each time she dived that beautiful little guy turned up! .So great. My friend bought for her two little children - actually it was a rescue of the fish, on two different occasions two exotic fish - pet shop cruelty who say say- "easy to keep just keep it in a tea cup, they don't mind" (!!) Once each were installed in their own tank, in different rooms straight away the same behaviour- as soon as the mother approached the exotic fish went into a happiness frenzy right up fluttering this angelic fins face right up to the glass looking her in the face. the fish recognising her, saving her life. I've sent the 4 yr old and 7 yr old and parents your great compilation! Thank you so much for all the work you do creating your wonder-filled, amazing, pictorial story telling. Bravo!

This kinda reminds me of my family and I coming back after spending 2-3 months in Italy with family, and our friends running over to our house after seeing our car pull into our drive way and my brother banging on the car window. And again 6-7 years later when I came back after celebrating my older sister's sweet 16 in Cancun, Mexico. When my younger cousins jumped out of their car upon seeing me and held onto me like they haven't seen me in years even though they hadn't seen me for just over a week.

The Irish Setter my brother and I raised from 6 weeks old and when my folks moved to N.C. my dog went with them and I went into the military and hadn't been able to get down to see my dog in 4 years and people would tell me that it was along time for a dog to remember me.
