A strong list but I have to say that I think Noahkai Banks has 4 to 4.5 star level potential. His performances in the last u20 camp were outrageous against France and South Korea and to even make the bench as a 17 year old centerback for a Bundesliga team is remarkable. He's got speed, technical ability, bravery and size, it may seem like a crazy shout but he gives me baby Van Dijk vibes. If we were to flip Chase from Japan, along with Wynder, and Neil Pierre we're cooking with hot gas.

Thing with potential is its a funny thing, guys who appear as though they might only be ok, can turn out amazing (Harry Kane comes to mind, nobody thought young Harry Kane would become Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski was a decent player at Lech Poznan in the Polish League when he was about 21, he nearly signed for Blackburn Rovers, but instead ended up at Dortmund and turned into an absolute beast) my point is whatever you think with young guys, some will no doubt overperform, some will underperform, some will be as expected, it's just how it goes
@ajibolavincent5496Ай бұрын
That is why I only rate players who get significant minutes at a high level. For example a player not in this list is Santiago Castaneda who turned 20 last month as has already played about 50 games both at 3 Liga and 2 Liga levels with his team looking very likely to get promoted to the Bundesliga
@mrmr5580Ай бұрын
@ajibolavincent5496 like I said you never know, them actually playing does help with development but you can never truly tell, you can only guess, I wouldn't write off any player under 24, some develop late, like Didier Drogba, he was in his late 20's when he had that brilliant season for Marseille that got him the move to Chelsea, I think with the US strikers Balogun is 23 and Pepi is 21, a players prime is usually roughly between 27-31 (unless theyre just freakishly good like young Messi was or R9 Ronaldo was at a very young age, Lamine Yamal looks like the next one if he stays injury free), it can be frustrating waiting for them, but if everything goes as it should (they avoid serious injuries, etc) they should develop, both have potential to become very good players
@Deeznutz29828Ай бұрын
True but those that already look great from a young age will more likely be successful than those who dont, its just not always the case.

This is one of those decisions that feels like standing at a crossroads, unsure which path leads to greatness. If you lined up Pulisic and Sullivan at 15 or 16 and just watched the tape, Sullivan’s raw field vision and athleticism would probably tip the scales. The way he reads the game, the way he moves-it’s instinctual, almost predatory. Skill-wise? It’s close, razor-thin even. But then there’s Pulisic. What he’s carrying isn’t just talent; it’s the weight of experience, the kind you only get sweating it out in Dortmund, sharpening every edge in the fire of full-time, high-stakes training. Sullivan, though-he’s different. There’s something in him that whispers names like Brady, Mahomes, Kobe, Jordan. It’s not just potential; it’s inevitability. The size, the athleticism-it’s all there, waiting to be honed. When he hits his stride at 20, 25? He’s not just matching Pulisic; he’s towering over him. This kid has the makings of something extraordinary, something that could push him into the 4.5-star, maybe even elite territory. But you don’t just anoint someone like that. You let time, sweat, and the grind decide.
@MrHackettАй бұрын
Compared to 10 years ago, I feel like Philadelphia Union's development isn't AJAX or Dortmund but I do feel like it's much improved to what an American player would've gotten in 2015/2016.

My prediction is that Cav Williams is going to end up like Brendan Aaronson by not going earlier over to Man City at age 16, like Pulisic is. Those two years, at age 16-17 are critical for development and were what made Pulisic the player that he is today. Pulisic even said so. You train in MLS's lower, crappier standards at those ages, and you're going to max yourself out as an Aaronson/Josh Sargent type player.

@David-f6d5s Not true on both counts. Cav Williams through his German heritage apparently already has a German passport and so would have a straight shot into any Bundesliga Academy (or any other EU country's Academy) that wanted him. There is simply no comparison between an Academy like Borussia Dortumund's versus the MLS. Both Pulisic and Gio Reyna got in before age 18 with their European heritage passports. BvB has such a proven track record for turning out truly great players .... I don't know why he didn't try to go there. I dunno why he chose ManCity, the one country where his German passport wouldn't help get him in earlier.

If anybody ever watches his "highlight" reels on KZbin, he's just not very quick, and can't jump very high or far, and isn't a very good shot stopper and just looks solidly terrible in any league not called MLS. That's why he's down in the third division in England. He's not anywhere near the caliber of Arthur Okwonko, who plays for Wrexham and is also right now in League One.
