I meannn... i use both a cooling pad and one of these. They work okay to exhaust some heat. But, depending on which brand and model you have, with a little bit of simple modifications, you can turn them around and blow cooler air directly onto the top of the motherboard. The laptop coolers that go beneath the laptops can only blow air onto the bottom side of your motherboard. It does help, but if you use a cooler to cool the bottom of the motherboard and one of those exhaust fans, by turning it around you can blow cooling air onto the top of the board. If you really wanna cool down your laptop as much as possible, then I would recommend getting a decent cooling pad and 2 of these exhaust fans. I would use one fan on one side to blow cool air onto the top of the board and use the other as an exhaust on the other side. Orrr you could blow cool air into it with both fans or even use both fans to exhaust the hot air.

I've had one of these dangling coolers for my old work non gpu laptop and it helps drop the temps by 10 degrees on average. The cooling tech in these newer gaming laptops seems to be better though.😊

I think it has to do with the speed of the fans in your laptop. The dangly things probably had faster fans
@LenSight356 ай бұрын
my question is.... why did you connect your vacuum cooler to the USB port of your Laptop? if you do, it will consume power from your device. it stresses your laptop battery which may increase the temperature as well.
@Worfalak10 ай бұрын
I dont know why you are pushing so much for ssd temps when they are the less important overall when it comes to laptops. SSD 's are generaly next to the heatsink and catch a lot of pasive heat . I have ssd's that work at 87 degrees under load whit no problem and no seeable performance loss for well over 2 years now. GPU and CPU should not go over 85 degrees , since most laptops share 2 or more heat pipes between the CPU and GPU , witch means that if one gets hot the other one gets hotter as well , and its a known fact that Nvidia GPU's thermal throttle at 87 degrees ,point where you actualy lose performance , while intel CPU's thermal throttle at 95 degrees . Heat is normal for a laptop , its best to manage and keep under control CPU and GPU temps , SSD's are not so much of a issue even if they ''thermal throttle'' the performance loss on them is so minimal its bearly visible , and in any case even if hot or not , SSD's generaly lose performance per data writen /space ocupied.

I have an Acer nitro 5 (5800H/RTX3060), I have similar a exhaust fan like these, mine is Opolar LC06. Long story short: instead of putting the fan on the side, put it in the rear vent and the CPU (my GPU temp is well under 80oC normally) temp will decrease several degree, at least it works for me.

I recommend getting the IETS 500, during very intense gameplay with the highest settings, laptop never had thermal throttle and sits around 80C-89C, Light gameplay would be around 50C-60C. Idle can go to 30C -40C

I think you tested it wrong, or maybe you don't deep dive to the mechanic of how this vacuum work so I think you are misunderstood about the vacuum's effect. Im not a pros about those fan or anything but I do tested out pretty much. So basically, there are 2 main reason to make this vacuum work right. 1, You put it in less-effecence slots, I know there are alot of people testing it from sides but practically if you put it in the back slots, its work perfectly. 2, Your temp aren't hot enough 🥵 65 - 70 degree for a laptop gaming was totally fine. And the point is, the vacuum not for reduce the temp, it only suck the heat out your laptop fan not strong enough, that 60 degree was from the temp of cpu, not the heat. Your temp need to be harder to make the vacumn work. And so, your test, was pointless, the game to light, the heat already loveable, thats prove nothing, you need to go harder, I think around 90 degree will do. And if anyone wonder my test, I go on Acer Aspire 7, get on God of War 2018, open PredatorSense (to Max my laptop Fan speed), from 85 degree to 75 (CPU) and pretty stable at that for the whole game ( My vacuum was CoolCold Cooler V6 Pro, 4500 Rpm, just a cheap one but work fine, I heard that get one from Voilio with 5000 Rpm will work even better )

Can the IETS GT500 be used with the Alienware M15 R7? Would like to close the laptop lid as I use an external monitor & KB. Or would I still have to keep the lip open?
@christopherdedeck11 ай бұрын
It depends where your exhaust and intake is.
@Kiss__Kiss11 ай бұрын
@@christopherdedeck Thanks for your reply. Intake is above the keyboard. Exhaust is in the rear as well as on the sides, and bottom, surprisingly. Or at least the bottom holes are where the fans are exposed.

IETS has some of those vacuum coolers for the side as well (I'm not sure about the name). Mine doesn't reduce temps that much, but I think if one can get it properly snug (maybe something done out of sponge would allow for less air leak) it'd reduce a whole lot more.

I think these gadgets only works if they break an airflow loop or if their fans act as a replacement for a laptop's venting fan, first scenario being uncommon, while the latter is rather rare.

Depends on the laptop. I have iets gt202 and it works on my 1 laptop while it doesnt work on my other laptop which is a gaming laptop. it just blocks the air since the built in fan is much faster than the vacuum fan, isntead of sucking hot air, it only blocks it.
