It’s not definitively and only from Germany, because the language evolved from lots of places. There is definitely a lot of influence from old german languages in the language, but todays English was formed from many languages spoken by the native celtics and all our invaders, combined with time for the language to evolve and become a completely different thing- that process happened in England so it would make more sense to use an English than German flag, imo, especially as the language isn’t spoken natively anywhere in Germany (as far as I know??)

@@tatteryt as a swede i’ve heard many english speaking people try to speak swedish, and its simply too hard to prenounce. And we also have a lot of unwritten rules that may be hard to know of if you are trying to learn our language.

easiest languages for native english speakers to learn are afrikaans, dutch, swedish, spanish, french, romanian, italian, and indonesian. They have very similar grammatical structure and borrow many similar words

@@gunnarfranzen9166 That's true. I grew up hearing many different languages so pronunciation is a bit easier for me compared to others. Learning which words were en or ett and how they affect adjectives was probably the most difficult, but easy enough once I got the hang of it. I'm just so glad there's only "är" for a present linking verb and "var" for a past linking verb. Having learned the conjugations of Spanish and Italian, it just makes everything so much easier not to have verb conjugations.
