For those who cant decide which biome mod to get: Terralith and Tectonic can both be used together, giving you a deep range of sprawling biomes. Pair that with Distant Horizons and a shader that plays well with it (my recommendation is Bliss) and you have one of the most captivating and beautiful versions of Minecraft you can possibly play, and it's all vanilla friendly!

You have no idea how much you're underselling the Sound physics remastered mod. It is easily one of the most underrated mods out there. If you enable the live visual rendering in the debug menu for the mod, you can see precisely what it's doing, and it'll give you a massive appreciation for it even without a good understanding. That being said I understand fully what's happening, and it's an audiophile's dream mod pretty much. It's essentially ray tracing the audio, dialing in or out multiple reverbs all depending on the measurements the rays are taking as they bounce around the environment. It is simulating things being in adjacent rooms by layering multiple reverbs, adding accurate distance based delay times to all audio, and the best part is it all adapts in real time just by the nature of it being physically modeled sound. It is probably one of the best systems for audio I've seen in a game, and you can fully adjust it on a block by block basis. That mod for me is literally a dream come true.

BIG PERFORMANCE BONUS: Make sure you increase the amount of allocated ram for each installation of the game. The normal 2 gigabytes is not enough (for my computer at least, RTX 3060 and ryzen 7 3700x) to load chunks quickly and consistently. In the Minecraft launcher, click on the installations tab, edit the one you want to play, hit “more options,” and under “JVM Arguments” the find where it says 2G. They should be the 5th and 6th characters. Change the 2 to an 8 and you will have MUCH faster chunk loading.

I assume the way that they change the colour of the grass in Terralith is just through changing the grass colour of the biome. While it’s not super noticeable between some biomes, different biomes have different coloured grass, even if it’s all just grass. Good examples of this are savannah and desert biomes, which have noticeably drier colours, and Swamps, which have a darker, almost blue-green grass.

I found that the Glass Pane Culling Fix resourcepack actually causes some weird colouration on glass panes. If you have a stair shape in it (for instance stair railing)... let me "draw" it | ■ | The | being the "edge" panes that only cover half a block, and the ■ being a full square pane. The half of the full square that's exposed has too dark of a hue. Much like the old shadow bug with (upside down) stairs Also, you apparently need Terraphilic for Geophilic to work with Terralith. As a mod, however, it's only available for forge and neoforge. You need to have it as a datapack for fabric. I would not recommend that though. Changing my terralith datapack to mod did not work for me, so I rather not try mod to datapack. Especially not since that I've grown fond of that one specific world.

Use a mod launcher or something (ATLauncher or prism or some such). There’s also an ace performance modpack called Fabulously Optimized that’s all client side so you can use it on servers if you’d like. It’s fabric dependent so if there’s a mod you’d like to add, or if you’re making a sort of makeshift modpack (although there’s a bunch of interesting modpacks that have a quest line that are well optimized), you’ll have to make do with fabric mods, though there’s no clear cut answer as to if fabric or forge (which I think goes by neoforge now?) is better, just a case of preference of which has your favorite mods, trade off either way.
