Was at Fort Riley for several years, it is a hotbed for paranormal activity! Only Army installation to have the post commander order an exorcism, and there’s an annual haunted walking tour of the post that’s a lot of fun. You go to the most haunted buildings and get to hear stories from the actual people who have lived and worked there.

It was one of the first military scary spaghetti stories which I had written and is almost 100% true. Now, having served in the Army for 30 years, I am quite accustomed to our everyday vernacular and acronyms. So, when I wrote HMMWV I just assumed that the Good Doctor would pronounce it as such. THIS IS TOTALLY MY FAULT! I should have taken the reader/narrator's perspective into account. I never should have assumed that EVERYONE served in the military and knew our alphabet soup of abbreviations. To his credit as a professional, the Good Doctor read it exactly the way I wrote it. Please don't blame the Good Doctor for what is actually the fault of a sophomoric author. Cheers! T_D

Had some "odd" experiences at Norton AFB. (gone now except for the NOW San Bernardino International Airport)... Prior to being an Air Force Base, it was an Army Base. ... buildings had history. One of the odd things were all the open bay warehouses and the train tracks that ran through. It was where they sent the dead, to be warehoused until being loaded on the train for the final trip home. Pretty sure some stayed long after the body had made the trip. 💀

You know a guy I knew when I was younger once told me that he didn’t allow himself to have bad “days”, only bad moments or experiences. And he’d quickly pick up the pieces and do his best to keep on moving on. Maybe give it a try? It works for me, obviously it’s a great way to look at life, and minimizes what could be called a whole day into a few minutes or an hour. Just some advice from a guy who at 35 looked 22.

I skipped the first story. After the 10th time not saying “humvee” right I couldn’t sleep. After that I started picking the story apart (yes, all vets do this). No branch of U.S. military service says the word “hours” after the saying the time. Not “1800 hours” simply “1800”. The Staff Sergeant forgot the radios? On what planet? And he picked the fire watch based on seeing some soldier laugh…wtf. I like poking fun at the army but it’s just disrespectful to presume that level of sheer incompetence. I’m sorry. I’m being petty. The HMMWV thing struck a nerve 😅

I find the comments correcting the HMMWV/Humvee to be more annoying than actually hearing it. We get it, the military is a big deal in the US and gets special treatment, but that isn’t universal and common knowledge like it is for you guys (not to mention, you know, different countries with different words or languages). He reads it as it’s written and at this point, if I were him I would continue to say it wrong out of spite and pettiness. Other than that, thank you, dear doctor, for these long compilations. Been getting back into creepypastas after years of struggling to keep the focus and not miss the whole story, and find myself checking if you have a video whenever a story catches my eye. Your voice is the easiest one to focus on, at the perfect speed and good articulation, so it makes it a little harder for my dumb brain to lose focus, and they’re perfect to listen to as I try to learn to draw since I don’t have to constantly find a new video. Hoping that things gets easier/better and that you aren’t melting away in the heat!

That tale was actually the very first scary spaghetti tale that I had written and the very first of mine which the Good Doctor narrated. Being a very novice writer who had already served several decades in the US Army, I made the very common, though inexcusable, mistake of taking for granted that not everybody outside of military circles knew the meanings, or how to pronounce, the plethora of alphabet soup acronyms that we use. To his credit as a professional narrator, the Good Doctor read the acronym exactly as I had written them. The mistake was not his. It was completely a fault of my own. Cheers! T_D

I guess it didn't bother me as much as much as it bothered a few. I actually appreciated the explanation as it provided a bit of a "behind the scenes" peak at the creative process. It also helped explain the mutual respect between author and narrator. In short, I liked it all. Please continue. YMMV
