I am from that school. That morning my mother told me to stay at home because we were celebrating Valentine's day on her anniversary with her boyfriend, so we were planning a big party when later I receive a text message from a group I have with my best friends, they started texting about a shooting, that they were scared... I inmediately told my mom, while she was on the phone, she started crying and I knew she already listened to the news. Hours later we drove to the school were everybody was, and I went to hug my friends, who luckily survived the shooting. I was pretty happy that I wasn't there on that day, but also I felt bad for a couple of the victims, who I knew.

I am an Australian and I am truly sorry for your loss. But may I say Dear America, You need to build a wall. I was so shocked to hear this morning the sad news about yet another mass shooting in the USA. More innocent children murdered senselessly. You really need to tell your politicians to do something about this. At the least, you need to build a new memorial wall in Washington DC that will list all the names of the thousands of innocent Americans that have been killed by gun violence. This would serve as a permanent reminder of the enormous tragedy families have had to endure. This monument would also serve as a solemn place of remembrance for those that grieve. These people need to be remembered because it seems that a few days after each of these horrendous events the US public and media just gets distracted and moves on. Nothing gets done! So sad man... you really dont know what fear is until you are put in a situation like this. I was in a similar situation in Germany on a trip to see family, I can tell you that I have never in my life been more scared than that very moment. Hopefully nobody has to experience that fear, I was literally shaking and could barely breathe because I really thought that it was the end. Prayers to all of the victims affected and may Allah grant you eternal paradise. I really hope for less terrorism in 2018 and years to come.

This is sad knowing that most of these kids were my age , if not a little older, it’s sad knowing that I have to walk into school and be fully aware of everything, it’s sad knowing that there’s people that are so selfish and cruel to take children’s lives just because they don’t know how to handle their own. School is supposed to be the place we go for education and to better our young selves and learn in order to do great things in life. For children to be scared walking into school is heartbreaking .
