We adopted a flame point Siamese little girl, Mia, from a rescue a year and a half ago and have no regrets. When we looked the breed up online, flame points are known to be very doglike - loyal and people friendly. She gets along well with our other cats and is our little shadow, always near. He showed up for a reason. You won’t regret adding him to your family! ❤

We get things moving. I agree several categories are slow on eBay. I do very well with vintage plush but haven’t sold a build a bear or squishmellow for a long time! There are definitely winners in every category. Occasionally, I even sell a Ty beanie baby, the Halloween ones are still sought after and go for reasonable prices.

With the cds and vinyl, it does seem like there are tons of listings now then just a few years ago, but a good title still sells consistently and that includes Elvis.
@voodoopat5518Ай бұрын
I don’t think it’s safe to say that any category is “ruined” or “dead”. It’s all about the data. It’s so easy to check sold comps or sell thru rates on the fly. Also, I’m willing to accept lower margins on categories that are easier to process and ship, as long as they sell. So, I’ll continue to pick up things like hats and shirts if they are new / like new, and have good sales data. While I would love to make $50+ per sale, I’m OK with selling the $10 profit items, as long as they are easy to list and ship.

Media isn't dead. Some of eBay's largest sellers are in media. I strictly sell media and will eventually be doing this full-time. Generally, speaking media sellers are a volume business. Just doing this part time, I've had 1150 sales so far this year and am currently up 39.3% over the previous year. I currently only do this part-time. Generally speaking media is dirt cheap to get and there are many items in this category that can go for a fortune! I've sold individual CDs that I paid $1 for over $300+. I'm a member of various Facebook CD collector groups with thousands of other people. Again, media isn't dead!
@commonwealthflipperАй бұрын
I agree
@johnathin0061892Ай бұрын
Media is definitely not dead, I also sell mostly physical media... but it is definitely an expert category now. Most printed books are literally garbage (and most CDs and DVDs are worth so little they are unsellable online), it takes knowledge and experience to find valuable items and make money doing it. On the bright side, if you know how to identify sellable media, it is SO EASY to photograph/scan, list, pack and ship, versus clothing or electronics. It is cheap(er) to ship too thanks to media mail.

Anytime I hear a seller whine and say that they won’t sell in X category anymore I think “excellent, one less low effort seller which will clean up the marketplace”.

Congratulations on the new cat. Never really was a cat person but somehow ended up with 2. You need to explain your inventory system. How do you keep track? 😅 Only been selling for about 2 years, still learning what sells and want doesn't. Did sell a Harley coffee mug today, which was one of my 1st purchase, so listed over a year. I did have the shipping way high for some reason, that was probably the problem. Thanks for the vid!

Hey Kevin I just had an idea to run by you. I am in one of the disaster zones in NC. I have kept selling when cell service would popup but a week without power or much cell service has killed my sales with the algorithm. With the damage it’s also limited sourcing. I don't think those categories are dead. It may be just a slowdown in buying due to the economy. As for clothing, people are buying what they need, and may be thinking out online due to the new fee implemented on buyers by poshmark & Mercari. in my area I am seeing people buying clothing in brick & mortar stores on clearance & sale days.

My opinion on the vinyl. I see many pickers on KZbin who don't know the bands and pick up some good ones and leave some they think won't sell. I won't give my age but my era had the best bands the best hair and the best cars LOL. I was lucky enough to see some of the greatest bands in the world. I was buying concert shirts for fifty cents at my local swap meet. Many of which I still have. I understand you don't have to know or like the music to buy the music or shirts. But it doesn't hurt to have a better understanding. Rock stars that are in their 70's means many of their fans are also that age. That age group is downsizing and not buying to much to "collect". Keep that in mind when sourcing they may not know how valuable some of their music can be. I like going to sales at Mobile parks that are 55+ or older. Peace

Things will sell in “dead” categories, but it means that you have a put more effort into it. A used misshapen hat in need of cleaning could still sell with ease for decent money, but now it seems that condition affects the price much more than it used to.

You crack me up! I wonder how many comments you'll get from people who don't know your sense of humor or didn't watch far enough to get the joke. I've sold in most of those categories recently as well. Low sell through rate items in every category are hard to sell, and there are always exceptions to each category. But, I will say most things sell eventually. We just changed our our garbage disposal, and this week I sold a bunch of the trim parts. When in doubt... I still love the surprise of discovering new categories and items after all these years. The treasure hunt goes on. Thanks for another fun video. Dibdit :)

@sheriffbikerlady5733Ай бұрын
@commonwealthflipper no but I do think when you make a large sale they slow you way down. After I sell a item over 100 dollars seems like my site just stops . Have squish mellow and hats at base prices and they just don't move . B ut I will see other items other sellers have going at higher prices. Not sure what the answer is but I just keep listening adjusting and pushing forward just trying to survive till I return to work at law enforcement.
