Scaring the cat and playing with them is different, cats also creep up on each other to practise hunting, you can tell when a cat is scared and when it’s playing. For example, my sister plays with my cat and she chases him around the house, trying to make some noise to scare him but he isn’t scared as after he goes up to her and cuddles her and starts purring.
