@donnav32706 сағат бұрын
$ 950.00 Over that it could be charged as a felony in California but it rarely was unless some tough on crime DA believed they were part of an organized ring. Under 950 and even tough on crime prosecutors couldn’t even charge them. They were cited and released IF the store bothered to report it. Businesses and cops saw it was futile and stopped reporting or even arresting them. That’s why some cities say crime is down. If it never goes to trial or gets charged let alone arrested then it’s not recorded.

"What was it? $500?" Try over $950 to get the various DA offices to charge and prosecute. It's so insane that there was one store that came up with a clever idea. Every item in the store is marked at $951. However, if you pay for your items. You get a customer discount. Which lowers it to the regular market price. I thought that was brilliant. More stores should have been doing that. Edit: Also worth noting. Gavin Newsom fought with everything he had to keep this repeal of the soft on crime policy from passing. He actually stayed out of the presidential race to focus on this. Because it's one of his legacies. It was in leaked messages from his office.

My dad explained why stealing is bad very simply, it erodes humanity. If stealing is legal it rewards people with no moral compass, and empowers the strong and evil to just steal from the helpless and weak. Wokies think stealing is taking away from big corporate but don't understand that the law against stealing prevents chaos and the harm of the weak. If you just loot all the stores the people who need those jobs have no work to do...If the workers who produce the products can't get paid cause all the items was looted then they worked for free.... stealing goes against everything we stand for as we ended no wage work a long time ago. You go to work and make money because money is universal and makes it so that you can find different professions to make the money. I read a book called money back in the day before money, families would have to trade there daughter marriage to another family for resources, or you would have to continue being a tailor like your father, No dreams for yourself becaues there was no currency.

To tell you honestly, Mr. Magnus, I was a rebel as a teenager and I stole from my parents only 2 times, but the second time I ran away from home and I regret that because it was winter and hypothermia was found in me, for this reason I was a bit destroyed completely right now, I can't stand any cold, my heart stings, yes, I stay too long in the cold. Even at 30 years old, I still suffer from my teenage stupidity. What I want to say is that some things you do in the past can affect you in a few years, I say this from experience. The new generation should calm down with these thefts because they don't belong in video games. The real reality is much worse and has consequences, maybe not now but in a few years when they dare to be adults like us.

It’s crazy how people really thought they would be able to do this ‘til the end of time, to just walk into a store, take what you want, and walk out. Some people just don’t want to put in the work to make a better life for themselves. You grow up in the same neighborhood as they do, go to the same school as they do, but while you get yourself a starter job that pays you a minimal wage check every two weeks, the other person is trying to hit a lick, trying to rob or steal, to take from others. And it seems like more people are growing up in these households where they have no idea what accountability is and what the rules of society are.
