Jin is honestly a reverse Ryu. -Wandering monk who sees purpose through conflict? Nope, terrorist. -Newcomer friendly main character? Nope, one of the hardest characters to use. -Stoic but friendly personality? Nope, Jin seeks power not to different from his father.

Jin's Strong Point: Tools for every situation. 50/50, Poking, Throws, Pressure, Wall Carry, Okizeme, Wavedash, Electric, Parry. Most (if not all of his moves) are useful to a degree. Jin's Weak Point: Tools for every situation. You have to know WHEN and HOW to use it, making the "simple" movelist have much more worth than it looks giving Jin a high execution barrier. You need to WORK for your wins.

Jin has strong Okizeme? His only move that both beats get up kicks and hits grounded is d4, which is punishable. And it also knocks them away allowing them to get up safely afterwards. He has one of the weakest oki in the game. His electric is also noticeably weaker from the mishimas, since it recovers much slower and has much less combo utility due to its crappier hitbox. Pressure is kinda meh too. Everything else checks out. You should also mention his crappy range due to his t-rex arms in the weak points.
@y.matocinos8448
@y.matocinos8448 Жыл бұрын
@@MrLifein66 That's why I said "tools for every situation"; I didn't say he has "good" tools. In comparison to some characters' movelists, some of Jin's moves are a little weaker. EWHF leads to a Screw instead of a true Launch like EWGF. Okizeme options are available but weak. Bad range with his arms so he is forced to take mid-range.
@MrLifein66
@MrLifein66 Жыл бұрын
@@y.matocinos8448 I mean sure, but by that logic every character in the game has "tools for every situation". The hook fist isn't worse because the combo is weaker, the main strength of the ewgf is that it is very hard to whiff punish, due to its fast recovery, that's why mishimas can throw ewgf's as keepout and its a viable option. On the other hand, the ewhf much, much easier to punish if the Jin whiffs it.
@kaje3435

As someone who had trouble with crazy execution especialy electrics on a dpad, i tought jin was very easy to learn... very cheese friendly lets say :D easy and save 10f punish, panic moves... mixup strings and very good lows (saldy no full crouch low). Now Heihachi is what i would say has some of the hardest combos if you wanna use the Omen Upper.... insanely 10 times harder than an electric.
@WeMissDimebag
@WeMissDimebag Жыл бұрын
His combos are not unusually hard for this game. If anything they've made them more on the easy end now. His routes are very simple and you can mostly copy and paste them. Hardest thing he has in combos is canceling f+4 out of zen when it gets blocked. You dont even have to do electrics in his combos and there's almost no timing elements or anything. Lee, Kazuya, Heihachi, Devil Jin, Steve, Geese, Akuma, Eliza, King, Armor King, Noctis, Bryan, Hwoarang, Nina, Julia, and Law all have stuff about as hard or harder in their big boy staple combos.

For those who don’t know and haven’t played Tekken tag tournament 2 Jin , Jins new Power stance properties from Tekken 8 was originally a borrowed concept that was accessed by a move called Omen stance which mimicked Heihachis stance this was only available if you were paired with a Mishima or Devil Jin ! Once in omen stance jin was briefly able to access Mishima moves ,thunder upper cut, electric god fist and many more this made jin even more of a brutal force to be reckoned with! Im quite happy to see this property return but rather then seeing a heihachi stance they chose to keep power stance for jin which is a good look for character progression in terms of story now that heihachis dead ! 15:13

just a tip from a fellow jin main on stick with electrics. When doing a electric what I found really easy is when you are doing the input f, n, f, df, I would press the 2 as you go from d -> df. The reason is so you're not thinking about hitting the 2 on df, rather as you are hitting on d is better because by the time you hit the df you should be hitting 2 at that moment. Think of it like you're hitting it early because our brain is behind what you think you're hitting at.

But the problem is that I SUCK at Tekken. I have to keep relearning the game and Jin over and over again as not only is he extremely difficult to use/master I don’t find myself playing Tekken like I used to It’s been off and on throughout the years. God help me When Tekken 8 comes out, Im gonna have to go through that torture again especially if I’m going to be using Jin along with slightly altered moveset. If or when I return to Tekken once again (hopefully in preparation of 8 and not after it.) You spend 2 hours learning a new combo in training room and then after you have mastered it, you take it online to try it out and then discover that opponent is different size than the character you trained on and because of that a move in the combo string whiffs and the combo drops.

God bless you, Max. He finally committed to learning the boy. I'm a Lee main, but my first love (and Mishima) was Heihachi and you've inspired me to pick him up again. If MAX can get decent with Jin, neither of us have excuses. Whether it's someone who's just picking it up or someone like me who's been playing since Tekken 3.

How about a combo challenge? Each T8 trailer gets a "hard" combo/char overview or smth like that? Would be too sick..

I'd argue Jin is harder to get competent with than Kazuya. Both have high ceiling though.

The Jin combo well is insane. first level- launcher > b3f1 > bf2,3f3 > dash b3f1,3 2nd level- launcher > hook fist > bf2,3f3 > dash b3f1,3 3rd level- launcher > hook fist> iws4 > bf2,3f3 >dash b3f1,3 4th level- rage drive > dash 3,1f cancel > b3f1 cancel > b3f1,3 wall carry > bf2,1,df2 or stuff like first level- ewhf > b3f1 >bf2,3f1,3 second level- ewhf > dash whf > b3f1 > b3f1,3 3rd level- ewhf > d1+2 > 3+4 > b3f1 > b3f1,3 4th level- ewhf (or ch 4) > ssr dash whf > b3f1 > bf2,1,df2 for a more consistent combo than zen 3+4. Not even starting on implementing his neutral game, where the most "stringy" thing he has is 2,1,(4) and bf2,3f cancel. Jin is the 2nd lowest win rate character right behind everyone's favorite gimmick Yoshi, and that's for a good reason.

Im still learning Jin till this day. Alot of Jin mains that fight me are teaching me different ways of hitting the EWHF but damn, the launcher to the EWHF i can never get off at all! some of the initial stuff i can string together. I was able to do the other Electric fist attack on PS4/PS5 with his square attack but his hook fist im still learning alot. But i will get there. This has been a good learning video and hilarious too lol

The $100 required you to do a micro dash and do b3f zen 12 but the addition of the zen 13 later in the life cycle made it almost irrelevant. So technically that wasn’t the $100 combo

I find it interesting that the main character (although you could argue Lars and Kazuya are the protagonist) is one of the harder characters usually there the go too characters for newcomers until they find someone more suited too a style they prefer
