The DG58 LSW has always been one of the weaker Modern Warfare III guns in the game but last week, it saw some massive buffs so I decided to revisit this gun and its Jak Nightshade Rifle Kit to share the new stats as well as my updated best setups to use! What are your thoughts on this new and improved LMG and what other guns would you like to see buffed in MWIII?

I think if we're talking about what needs a buff it's got to be pretty much all of the mw2 guns attachments. And by that I mean the weapon specific ones, notable barrels, magazines and stocks. They just severely lack in balance when compared to mw3 guns, with crazy big downsides like -40% ADS speed with a smallish range buff and a small amount off recoil reduction

This right here, I’ve been saying this since the games launch! This is the actual problem with the mw2 guns, and these should have been balanced at launch. Unfortunately I don’t think they will ever rebalance these attachments for like 70 mw2 guns

Tried to setup a KV Broadside with slugs one day because I remembered it was fun in MW2 and wanted to see if that carried over. Almost every barrel attachment made it's ADS speed so bad, I'd be better off using the XRK Stalker without any attachments. So I whole heartedly agree with that.

All the MW2 guns should just be removed from the game, most of the player base doesn't use them, and the developers clearly don't care about them. And thanks to the MW2 weapons there's WAY too many attachments in this game

At the start of the season they changed the fr 556 attachment which all of them had mw2 attachments downsides, maybe they will do a general overhaul next season to the mw2 ones

I had always wanted to use the nightshade kit for this weapon, but HATED the ridiculous recoil it had. Now after the update I really need to try it out. It kinda reminds me of the Groza a bit from Cold War, and I liked that gun a lot

@xxPhoenixX-sg9tr Brother controlling the recoil isn't the problem. It had some of the worst recoil in the entire game. Even if you could control it nearly perfectly, it will always be less consistent than any other AR or SMG, so there was little reason to use it before the update

I think for the base DG-58 LSW, they should reduce the lower torso multiplier to 1x so you have to hit all upper torso shots. However, the nightshade kit is in a perfect place as it is and shouldn’t be further buffed or nerfed.

The Taq-V needs the same treatment with the recoil. Right now the only way that gun stays on its target is if you're using that one muzzle break that puts you on the radar longer in addition to like 2 other recoil reducing attachments. And this is to have the gun get better in full auto (the mode its supposed to be in by default).

So glad it got a buff, I have the Bone Structure blueprint which makes the gun transparent and the iron sights are awesome with it. Nothing blocks your view and it’s easier to stay on target without wasting an attachment slot on an optic.

The DG 58 is what a LMG should be. Better range, TTK and recoil in exchange for ADS time and mobility. Many CoDs got this wrong and we ended up having assault rifles with worse stats.

I would say that the higher ammo capacity play a factor into the balancing. Since many LMG users tend to hold a lane without letting loose ADSing with that the slow handling and the huge ammo capacity, a slightly slower TTK for LMGs would've allowed other guns to compete or getaway in a gunfight.

I still generally prefer the BP50 for its better accuracy or the MTZ-556 for its mobility, but with the new buffs the DG-58 and the Nightshade kit are pretty fun to use. As for guns that deserve buffing, it'd be nice to have just one competitive, meta burst-fire weapon. If SHG can release cracked out kits like the Outlaw and Wardens, this isn't too much of an ask.

Shotguns with slugs need to be buffed because they are essentially useless for the purpose of ranged engagements. Some can’t even one shot people unless you aim for the head, and there is ADS spread as well. Just very ineffective whereas they were once very fun and viable to use in MWII.

Like the M4, AK-47 (Kastov-762), AK-74u (Kastov-74u), MP5, P90, Intervention, M14 (EBR-14), Vector (Fennec) and many more. These are staples within the MW series, so it doesn’t make sense to leave some of them in an unusable state. I really hope SHG makes the effort to balance the remaining MWII weapons.

Honestly the Katt-AMR is completely overshadowed by all the other snipers. The MORS and Stalker being very good snipers for anything. The Longbow for super aggressive play style or just quick scopes. The KV Inhibitor could use one as well but it is still very decent and usable; somewhere between the Longbow and other snipers.

They should buff one of the suppressors and make it the suppressed counterpart to the JAK BFB muzzle. Some of the current suppressors have like 40% ADS speed for 7% recoil control. They might as well make one of them more unique by giving it a huge recoil buff, and increase range.

Lachmann-556 could also do with a bit of love. It’s stated minimum damage range is 55.9 metres, yet it’s actual 6 hit kill range is only around ~44-45 metres. They should also buff its medium damage to 28 or 29, so you can still get a 5 hit kill to the upper torso (30-31 for the Upper Torso damage) and have that range extend out to around ~38-44 metres. Also, the M4. Other than it’s horrendous visual recoil, its a decent weapon on its own, but there’s no reason to use it over the MTZ-556. They need to do something to make it stand out from the mtz556. Maybe buff it’s maximum damage to 37, so it can get a 4 hit kill with 1 headshot? I understand this may make it a bit too powerful so an alternative would be buffing its maximum damage range out to around 30.48 metres but not changing the damage. The 1st option would make it stand out from the mtz556, but the 2nd option might be more resonable for overall balance. With the M13C, increase its initial damage from 31 to 32, so it can get a 4 hit kill if 1 hits the head. Also reduce its ADS time from 247 to ~220-230ms With the M13B, they should add an extra damage range that extends out to 38.1 meters and does 25 damage. That way it doesn’t immediately drop off from a 5 to a 7 shot kill. This makes it a little bit more concistent without making it too powerful. The Kastov-545 just needs medium-long damage buffs and damage range buffs across the board. The initial damage is fine, just extend it out to 26.67 meters. Increase its 5 hit kill to the body from 39 to 50m increase the far near damage from 25 to 29. Increase the minimum damage to 24. With the Kastov74u, just add a damage range that goes out to 22.86 meters and does 36 damage. That way it can get a 4 hit kill to the upper torso out to a decent range, but not too far. The PDSW-528 could also really do with some love. Desparately needs buffs to all its damage ranges. Just port over its range values from MWII and it will be fine. Vel-46 could do with some slight handling buffs. Reduce its ADS time from 216ms to 200ms. Reduce its sprint to fire time from 110/211ms to 100/200ms Increase its Aim Walking speed from 3.2 to 3.4 meters per second. Maybe also increase its maximum damage range from 10.16 to 11.43. Fennec 45 badly needs some damage buffs aswell. There’s literally no reason to use it over the WSP Swarm.

Thinking about Cold War, I really hope Treyarch sticks to their gameplay formula and releases their next game without tac sprint and mounting. The Victus XMR cannot one shot people in the arms. This is a problem because its the second slowest sniper in the game and the longbow can one shot people in the arms. The Carrack .300 can ONLY get a one shot to the head. While the KV inhibitor can one shot in the torso. They're basically the same gun but one just does way more damage and the other basically useless.

Hey ace I'm stuck in a Hilton hotel. I got setup & connected via my cell's Hotspot. But connection is so bad, I get thru about 1 in 3 matches without lag & losing connection. I don't get why the Lachmann - 556 doesn't get any love. It's basically the MCW before it got nerfed. Same TTK and the TTK gets reduced when you mix one headshot in too. Also a very accurate AR.

to be fair, i think they should just buff all mw2 weapons to the point that they are on par with the mw3 weapons. Most of the time I just put on the rick grimes skin and use Tyr and the mw2 Magnum in a gunslinger build because I am tired of the meta weapons, but most of the time you cant compete with the mw3 weapons if you use mw2 weapons

Expedite 12 and stormender. The Stormender needs a charge up barrel like the Mors to use against players and do damage or maybe alternate ammo. The Expedite 12 is far and away the worst shotty in the game. GS Magna definitely could use a recoil improvement as well.

Would love to have a good burst AR again. DG-56 nerfed into the ground. Dropping off to a 6 shot kill combined with it's awful range stats is a joke. FR-556 attachments suck. Bad ADS time and burst delay too. M16 way better than it used to be but still too much recoil. Most full auto ARs can stretch their ranges better than the M16.

@@anon1231 It slaps in MP. You can make it accurate and it be a consistent 3 shot kill at any range.

Maybe a slight RoF increase to bring down the TTK. I love using it but it struggles a little when you can't get that finishing shot. I like using it in single fire for the bonus headshot damage and the ability to two-tap.
