Matt the reason sunflowers are so good as a shield in the modded version (I forgot how to spell the name) is because they pay for them self in pvz 2 but even in the base game that a risky strategy because of the fact that their recharge is longer and in PvZ 1 sun was only worth 25 whereas the full 50 sun in pvz 2

The almanac actually told you quite a bit of stuff like zombie's weakness (Like bonk choys killing bug zombies without them dropping the zombies) and specific synergies between certain plants' combo (You'll get one of these plants later on in the game). Tiering, apart from changing plants' stats, also changes plants' behaviour, like Grave Buster being able to bust a 3x3 area at Tier III. That's also why Sun-Shroom never grows in Tier I (it only grows to the second stage in Tier II and third stage in tier III). Loving this playthrough so far, hope this helps. :)

3 Tips for Matt -There has to be 2 torchwoods in a lane to get the maximum damage from it. - The Pear is a great starting plant to use at all stages of a level, so it is better most of the time to use only Pear to have more seed slots for the level. - Spikeweed is very situational and is great at adding additional damage, as well as making flowers in the middle of the tile trampable.

Matt, an tier 3 sunflower and an tier 2 sun-shroom can help you a lot in some levels (principaly in later levels) Ps: the sunshroom only starts to grow in tier 2

I have a hack idea. In either game, plant tons of corn lobber (whatever they are called) and try to beat as many waves as possible. The butter should freeze them and make them unstoppable.

Tip: use grave buster for the graves. Also, plant a spikeweed or spikerock on top of the don't trample the flowers level's flowers, you'll not lose. (idk how lol)

Tips for Matt: Tip #1: if you have flowers in the middle of a tile. You can place spike weed or spike rock on it to make flowers able to be trampled. Tip #2: if a gargantuar is still more then half health. in half way through the lane. You should stall it with stuff like puff shrooms or ice lettuce. Unless you still have a lawnmower available in that lane

Matt adding on to the 2nd read comment in your video about sunflowers(or other sun generating plants) acting as a shield, It’s actually better to have your sun producers on the 2nd or 3rd row while you have damage dealers on the first, this will ensure a safer victory most of the time as you could still kill zombies even if they breach your initial wall.

Hey mat a good way to get more sun in the early game is to not drop peashooter to immediately kill the zombies, as if you had not killed the zombie as fast none will spawn for a while.

Pro Tip: Whenever u are using sun shroom, always bring a secondary sun producer (sunflower, twin sunflower, etc) as sun shroom wont provide enough sun late game for later levels.

Just some random thing for you Matt. If you still find eclise too easy you can play hardcore mode which will make the levels tougher but you will still properly progress (though hardcore and regular don't have the same saves so you have to start from 1-x)

a small tip: you could use torchwoods instead of wallnuts, because it has quite a bit of toughness and deals damage to zombies eating it

Matt when you use the boomerangs ability when things are tough dig the boomerang before all of them get back and then they'll head backwards and boom gone and try using hypno shroom plant food and then any zombie no matter what they will become a gigantuar

I advice you to upgrade snow pea into tier 2 because it will have a splash damage which will slow stacked zombies on the same lane but it will cost 450 so it is yours if you want to and if you upgrade the tier of a plant it will never go back to tier 1 until you buy the tier 3 so that's a friendly reminder on upgrading the tier of you plants and to help you to decide the stats of the plants are on the on the almanac so check it first before you upgrade the tier.

Hey, Matt, you should really start using early-game stallers like Kernel-pult. Kernel-pult is one of the most useful plants in this mod so you should really try it. 2 columns of Kernel-pult + Bonk Choy is great.

U probably want to beat Vanilla first b4 the mod so u know what the mod change If u want a challenge in PvZ2 Vanilla Make new account then do the entire PvZ2 without doing the optional leveling up or spending money It's not easy but not too hard Or just play PvZ2 ver 5.6.1 without spending a cent Also by "put sunflower on the front" isn't just for sunflower, it's sun producer in general especially in eclips***

Info, sun shroom in eclise only grow on tier 2 or 3, tier 2 will only grow to 50 sun and tier 3 will grow all the way to 75 sun producing
