I am 56 years old and hunting for the second year of my life. I am loving the adventure! I have no cartilage in one ankle, bone spurs in my other foot, a bad knee, a hernia, two slipped discs, a previously broken shoulder, and some heart problems ... still ... getting this kind of information is helping me so much in me not having to learn it first-hand by trial and error (to pass it on to my 15 year old twin sons). I love the interviews. I love the science. I love the experience. Thanks for existing on KZbin! You're a blessing to me!

So, this is about farmed deer, right? Guys with private land, growing the deer's food, etc, etc. Likely almost zero predation too.

Great conversation and lots of good information here, fellas! Enjoyed the full disclaimer at the end 😂. A 180" could just as well be a unicorn for most hunting properties. Lots of surrounding QDM neighbors certainly helps, aside from genetics and nutrition. Some of the most dedicated hunters/land managers may never even get a crack at one. Heck, a 150" is a pretty high standard for most everyone, isn't it? It certainly is for me, even after 40-years of hunting!

That guy might be right about his little niche of the country but I heard his say that prescribed fire does more harm than good and is not a good wildlife management tool…..he could not be more wrong in the southeast landscapes
