I am going through a hard time, I was an orphan from a very young age, saw my father killed in front of my eyes, later my mother married someone very bad in a 3rd world country (IDK where I was born nor even the date) her new husband abused me in many ways, even set me on fire. I was later put up for adoption and in that orphanage I met God. I was adopted to USA and they were very abusive I was so angry with God Ididnt know why He would allow such things..I went to college with them making fun of me even professors calling me stupid and saying I wouldn't pass, I did pass thanks goes to God for that. I moved for a job and I lost my job 4.5 months ago. I still have no family no real home and now not even a job..I am trying so hard to hold on..its been difficult.

@@sparta23dh I have been in that situation too:) Was living with an abusive person and had to force myslelf to go on my knees multiple times per day and say out loud to the Lord: "I do not feel like it but I forgive Xxxx because Your Word tells me to do so. Now please, Lord, put my heart in line with the words of my mouth because only you can do it." And God would take out the bitterness and hate of my heart and set me free until the next time when the person comes at me. Then I would go to the Lord again. Eventually the attacks didn't effect me like it used to anymore and in His perfect time, when I have learned how to forgive no matter what, God has set me free from this situation. When we are being attacked we MUST forgive, because if we don't, we will surely lose. May God give you all the grace that you need to do it as many times as it takes for you to learn the never ending power of His grace through chosing to forgive and pray for our enemies.

@@sparta23dh just to add to it, this is the forgiveness of Jesus hanging on the cross asking God to forgive His enemies becuase they do not know what they do... God requires the same kind of forgiveness from us, however, it is important to remember that we can only do it through the power of His grace. That's why we must remain in Him at all times in prayer and study of His Word, so we do have access to that grace - the enabling power of God.

My husband is very abusive. He abused me and my child in every sense of the term. I had been praying, trying to receive an answer from God about what to do about the abuse. God had called me to remove myself from the abuse, not the marriage, but the abuse. I ended up having to get a restraining order against him and had to sit in a court room in front of him and a judge, and admit the abuse he was putting upon my life. I was so afraid, and while I sat there, shaking, God reminded me of these lyrics: “I will not be shaken.” Those words God reminded me, said that through God, I cannot be shaken. I had peace and God has supplied my son and I with safety. ❤️

The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished in all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire, the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eight, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth, the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, and it was transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple theirein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it; for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I’m not quite through but a few things that come to mind are 1) we have a direct line to God when we speak to him 2) he leans down to hear us 3) sometimes the things we ask for are not best for us and the answer is no 4) the answer could be wait. I’m not sure that God gives us guidelines as to how to pray and how to ask for help. We are all on our own paths to fulfill his work. Some people are on the milk others are on the meat. I’m unsure of the message given in this is accurate but I’ll finish then comment again. I just hope everyone knows as a child of God you and your thoughts are important to God. He wants to talk to you daily. Much love to all.
