Bro, Scannerz was the coolest shit back then. My brother and I had the racing version where barcodes could have cars, car parts, races, and different events. The events made the game never feel too stale. Like getting into a wreck and losing a custom car part. Or getting your best car impounded by the police for racing illegally haha. We would play for hours after grocery shopping. That was a huge nostalgia trip.

@@ckorp666 I think we made the same mistake on mine unfortunately... surprisingly we didn't fight, we just scoured the entire house for every barcode we could find. I do remember getting a good car I didn't have before, so it wasn't too bad haha. I'm gonna hunt for 2 of the colors we had when we were young for christmas now. Got a whole year to figure it out haha.

I actually do remember watching something about that 65,000+ versions of Pokémon. If I remember originally their plan was for every single cartridge to be a slightly different game so that everyone would have a slightly unique experience. I mean you could probably list multiple late changes for Pokémon Red/Green and Blue. Personally I think a change that they made that would have been way more harmful than no link-cable features was; they originally planned for Legendary Pokémon to not be catchable, at all.

I remember playing the original Planetside in the early 2000's. One of the earlier games that would pit 100 vs 100 vs 100 players against one another on a large continent with capturable bases, vehicles, etc. Not exactly a Battle Royale, but certainly the tech was around to make such a game.

Whoever said the Last of Us show's story if different than the game in chat is either huffing something really nice that I want or just trying to bait Coney into watching the show, because the show, aside from a few certain aspects to how the world works and a couple odd character insertions, is almost 1:1 the same as the game plot wise. It's weird to say it's different.

How on Earth did people forget that Fortnite didn't have a BR mode when it first came out? It's only been 5 years, are people's brains getting so addled from consuming thousands of 10-30 second long videos now that we can't remember things from 5 years ago? I have never even played Fortnite or indeed any BR game, I just remember finding it funny at the time because Fortnite was out for like 2 months without a BR mode and when it got announced I knew a lot of people who played PUBG and I remember hearing from so many people things along the lines of "why would I go play a game that looks like it was made for children when I can just play PUBG" and now all but a small handful play almost nothing but Fortnite.

They didn’t forget, they just never knew. Fortnite became mainstream like around Season 3. Most people didn’t pay attention to the game before then and STW was never advertised through BR since. Like a lot of the player base got into Fortnite even after chapter 1 so..
