When I was 25 years old, I also wondered how I could ever afford to buy a house. After paying rent until I was 30, I finally bought a $35k house about the same size as a 2 BR singlewide and paid for it by working full time, sometimes a second job too. Since then I’ve had other houses, larger houses, and at 75 years old I kind of wish I still had that $35k house.

I love the video. Those sort of people will never understand the amount of hours that we work, If I wanted more kit for My agricultural workshop, I used to go and drive trucks all night for a month to get money in quick so I could by the stuff I wanted. 😉 all the best from Henry in the UK 🇬🇧

Well said !!! My dad raised me with enough pressure on my backside to keep my ears working well. I find this lacking in today’s society.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Honestly truthful wisdom. Some of the best rants I’ve ever had were after a 14 hour night shift in the middle of a 32 hour day. One of the funniest videos I saw recently was a 20 something girt moaning about how she is supposed to live on $20 an hour and detailing her required budget, expensive car, rent, and so on that was $85K per year after taxes. Successful parents have spoiled their children to the point that it’s a bitch slap to live in the custom you can actually earn. Great to hear you are helping out with Theresa’s garden. Wouldn’t expect anything less. Might have made an interesting video. Spotted recently on the KZbin, farmers in central Canada that are building super insulated green houses that are passively heated. Growing all kinds of stuff all winter long, on even had huge banana trees. I’m sure in NJ you could replicate a piece of the Philippines for her to grow in. Some were actually living the beach life inside theirs. Looking forward to seeing whatever videos you can share, appreciate the ones you do. Wishing you and your family the best.

Wes, just want to say I've been watching you since you were stuck in the mud bailing with the 4960 some 10 - 12 years ago. I'm only 22 years old now The generation I grew up with is complete garbage. None of them have the drive to get anything done, and all of them are jealous of the ones who have the drive. As a kid starting in about the 6th grade I mowed grass in town, by the time I was out of middle school I had 20 something accounts multiple zero-turn mowers paid for all myself, other than the original push mower which mom and dad helped me out with. As soon as I could legally hold a job running equipment I went and worked for a couple local farmers While I was still in school. I was still pulling 80 hour weeks and going to school at the same time. As soon as summer vacation started I went to work full-time. And did a lot of 120 hour weeks and have the time cards to prove it. I slept in the sleeper of his truck occasionally when I was going hard spraying Late at night and early in the morning and combining during the day. Needless to say for a kid in high school I made a pile of money. But at the same time I didn't do any of the normal school partying or spending money on wasteful items. I'm 22 years old now, started working with an uncle of mine who runs a specialty repair business and bought a house and new pickup. The vehicle in pure cash. I get the comment from people I went to school with about how it must be nice to have everything given to you. It as a matter of fact yes it is nice but nothing other than a $200 push mower was ever given to me. But at the same time I want to retire at 50 years old and you got to work your ass off to get there. I don't know where I was going with this comment, but I just want to thank you and your generation and older for instilling in me as a young child the motivation to get out there and make a living for myself. Just want to say to this day you're still someone I look up to. Hopefully one day I can find a wife as amazing as yours. But when I look around here I know it will be difficult/ borderline financial suicide to ever get married.

And you're correct on the student loans, why the f*** should I have to pay for it. They're the ones that went to school and got educated, figure it out genius. The whole government giveaway program bulshit just infuriates me. Including social security. I know damn well I will never see a dime of it. To be perfectly honest I don't even invest in Roth IRAs or US dollar backed retirement as I don't think it'll be around by the time I want to draw it out. We're on a dangerous slide, yes getting Trump in there will help slow it but he's only going to be there for 4 years. We're fucked. But nothing I can do except for keep doing my job and whatever spare cash I got shove it into physical assets.

Another random story, my senior year of school I had a speech teacher that would love to tell me if I didn't get my speech grade up I was going to be no more than a garbage man my whole life. I didn't say anything that day but I started carrying around a pay stub with me. The next time she made that comment I gave it to her with a printout of her personal public School salary, and the salary of a garbage man. She never said another f****** word to me again. Me and the garbage man both made more than her, with no college degree.

It’s hard to disagree with the tiktokers about the cost of living crisis. Unfortunately our elected politicians are out of control and couldn’t run a lemonade stand let alone balance a budget

1981 I joined the Navy after I dropped out college. Iran hostage crises was part of it (call me stupid but I love my country). Also part of it 18% and higher interest rates under Carter.I really couldn't afford to eat and in the Navy I would get food.As an E-3 I made $648.00 a month and happy as a pig in slop since I got food. Reagan got elected and pay jumped to just under $800.00 a month if my memory is correct. Got forced out in 1989 (during a major recession) with unplanned force reduction after Cold War ended: Navy ran out of money and as an E-6 I was too expensive to keep. 6 months before that I was being fast tracked to either LDO program or accelerated advancement to Chief Petty Officer. Yup: it was all easy street for us boomers......

Thanks for saying exactly what I have been thinking and saying. You covered everything right to a T. Just have to wonder how this all works out in the end. Then you watch some of these videos on KZbin and they don’t know anything about our country. But they do know how to fix it! UFR…

college system is broken. we as a society need to at least recognize that. You mentioned nurses and doctors. I know both and they are both struggling. architects engineers. Just becuase you did it doesn't mean its right. I agree this new younger generation is a bit different but the root problem is still a thing. Not everyone can be a mechanic or plumber you know. It take a village to make the world go round.

Six months out of the year, I have no schedule and have to sleep when I can. So when people like her or other truck drivers, wine about the hours they drive kiss my ass.

I hate to say it OLF but the problem is as a whole my parents (boomers) and yours have put less and less expectations on kids, and it extends into early adulthood and a lot never grow up.
