Hi Ben and Ashley. You guys did a fantastic job of telling this story of interacting with a new culture that is so different from what most of us are used to. Thru trading, you provided them with things that they really need while providing you with things that you could use but may not be so necessary. And charging their phones and sending emails on their behalf - fantastic and good on you for doing that. I hope other cruisers see this video and feel compelled to do the same thing. From your videos and others, I know that cruising is not cheap (repairs, food and fuel cost money) but for a relatively small amount of money spent on necessary items for these folk, they and you, the cruisers, walk away with a memory that will last a life time. Also, the windsufing looked "awesome," and I think those are called apple bananas; they are delicious when really ripe.

As I was getting ready to write my comments I noticed that most everyone else had come to the same conclusion as I did so at the risk of being redundant I think you both are amazing! You have a genuine love and acceptance for all of the people that you meet. You are great ambassadors and will leave a positive, lasting impression wherever you go. You can see it in their eyes and the looks on their faces how they admire you and how much joy you have brought to their lives. Thank you for showing me a culture that was unknown to me and for shining a light on a wonderful group of people. The world could use more people like you and the loving people of Papa New Guinea. Keep up the great work and God’s Speed.

I am so happy I found your channel. Not just because of the sailing but because of all the different cultures that you are sharing with the rest of the world. So many other channels are all sailing to the usual places and avoiding the so called "scary" places. Mark Twain said "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime" Your videos do just that. Too many people are scared to visit different areas of Papua New Guinea. After watching this series how can you not want to go there and just fall in love with these people? Well done you two!! Now get back to editing more videos :)

Wow, so neat to see the trading. The thought never occurred to me that it would go down like this because there are no stores! To think our ancestors did this for literally thousands of years: hopped on a ship and showed up someplace far away and traded. Such a neat connection to the past both maritime and commerce. So cool!

You 2 are a larger blessing to more than you guess. Your willingness to give these people the better end of the trade is both humbling and inspiring. I speak as an American where we literally have money/food/comfort coming out our assess. Where we only eat the center of the filet mignon and toss the rest. I've seen your attitude a number of times when the locals come to your boat to bring/trade items of pittance. Thank you for showing us, visually, how things should be. God bless you both and your boat and travels. I very much enjoy your videos, 'and great editing too. You've got some pretty good moves on the kite board !!! Can I request some more screen time of the 'wife' telling us about how "Awesome" something is? Anything, 'it doesn't matter ha ha ha
