Welcome to Codenames! We're split up into two teams and have to guess our "secret" words before the opposing team. Each team has a spymaster who can see the entire board. The spymaster comes up with a word or phrase that can link as many correct words together as possible WITHOUT linking the opposing team's words. And if the gray word is chosen by either team, it's game over. Super fun game. I love being spymaster and losing my mind listening to my teammates figuring it out lol. Feels very much like being dead in Among Us and shouting at my computer monitor. Enjoy!

I have to say, just not as fun. No Chilled = no chaos, random stretches that for some reason make sense when they shouldn't. No Cheesy = far out there clues that in the end make full sense, but make no sense when the game is going.

to be fair on the gobstoppers and jaw breakers. in the U.S. the main difference is size, gobstoppers are generally smaller you get a bunch in a box where jawbreakers are usually starting at the size of a baby"s fist and can go larger lol

The only gobstoppers I'm aware of are a specific brand name inspired by the Wonka everlasting gobstopper. Small like a marble, you get a ton of them in the box, and they change colors/flavors. And I don't think I've ever seen a jawbreaker in real life. The only thing I can think of is a movie with that name where some high school girls pull a misguided prank by kidnapping one of their friends and they accidentally killed her because they had shoved this almost tennis ball sized (I think?) candy into her mouth as a gag and it got stuck in her throat while she was in the trunk of the car. If it's a real product I get the impression that they'd have to be sold individually because of the size.

In the US, Gobstoppers are just a specific example of jawbreaker, which is the type of candy. It's like how Starburst is a taffy. But it's also fairly rare to see a specific brand of jawbreaker, like Atomic Fireballs, whereas people can name a whole bunch of brands of chewing gum or candy bars. Sometimes you'll see a very large novelty jawbreaker but honestly I doubt anyone really eats them. Normal jawbreakers generally top out at 2cm across. After looking it up, though, "gobstopper" is the general term in England for what an American would call a "jawbreaker", so in that region it's the type of candy.

I’ve never seen big jawbreakers before. Honestly, thought it was something they made up for Ed Edd and Eddy. All the ones I’ve had are the same size as gobstoppers. The only difference is that gobstoppers change colors.

Gobstoppers, at least the US brand, are just smaller jawbreakers, which completely defeats the purpose of being a jawbreaker in the first place. Jawbreakers are called such specifically because their size - yeah, about the same size as a tennis ball - makes it hard to get them into your mouth and your jaw can get really tired sucking on them. Well, that's what they used to be. Nowadays, while you can still rarely find the tennis ball sized ones, they're usually about golf ball size. I've had one of the tennis ball sized ones myself, and it had layers just like gobstoppers.

48:37 "Scale Mail" as a type of armor, the earliest source for this exact phrase that I've heard of is from Dungeons & Dragons. "Chainmail" or "Maille" is armor made of interlocking wire rings. "Scale Mail" isn't what you would normally say, instead it should be perhaps "Scale Armor", which was a leather coat with metal scales sewed or riveted onto it so they overlap like fish scales. Scale armor is an older armor technique than maille. There's also some overlap with lamellar armor, or in general any "small plates sewn onto a backing" armor, so categorization is a little loose. And of course, because D&D had "scale mail" it bled into all kinds of other tabletop games and video games. Sounds like Kara heard it from WoW.

I can answer to the "What is a gob?" thing! My etymology classes may become useful after all! The noun "Gob" probably comes from ancient celtic and more than probably meant "Mouth" it evolved firstly trough Gaelic where it still can mean mouth. Trough french into the verb "Gober" which means "Swallowing without chewing" (less used nowadays but still present in some Idioms and utterances) and in middle English. Taken from the French verb I just talked about (French and English have a long history of stealing words from each other) with the verb "To gob" meaning "to spit" but it stopped being used long before the Gobstoppers appeared. So for the meaning of Gobstoppers there is two viable meanings. Ether it means "Stopping from swallowing in one go" or "Stopping the mouth from munching into it like it were a chocolate ball or an apple" Edit : I love answering linguistic questions so if anyone realding this has questions about a word they want to understand I can try and help!

Robin Hood didn't really "steal from the rich and gave to the poor", he stole from the greedy government who was overtaxing the citizens and gave back to the people. And, there is some debate on who exactly Robin Hood was, some people think that instead of one actual person he is based on a few people of the age who just wanted to help the people. It's more an ideal than an actual person.(this is my belief on it, that there was never any one person who went by "Robin Hood".)

Hey Ze, coming from a KZbin layout maker. A lot of people make box layouts for each game. Then they put in their Webcam and whatever else in stream so that way they know if it blocks game play. Might be something helpful to try out! Just leave empty spaces and fill it in, then just take the guide layover off. Boom, set up perfect every time!

You can only use one word or concept per clue (names of ppl and movies are usually considered fair game for example) , since fast window are two completely different things and just synonyms it defeats the purpose of the game, your method would be very effective tho
